my purdue friend loved when IU hired Woodson and did not like IU hiring devries.  I’d take that as a good sign.

Just catching up. The info that DDv and Scott talked even as early as the Bahamas seems plausible. 
DDv was the guy the whole time once SD knew Brad was out. He really did get his man.

If there was a "verbal" agreement as late as Sunday 3/18, then Scott did mess up.  IU had the advantage that Woody was known to be gone mid Feb.  Give Stevens, or whomever, until 3/1 to say yes.  By the time 2/25 rolls around, tell them you're moving on to put the pressure on them.  

Although, seems to me highly unlikely there was any agreement as late as Sunday.  The search firm was put in place weeks ago.  No need for such firm if there was an agreement.

first off obviously i had a typo at the end. Sunday night brad tols Scott he wouldn't bae taking the job.

 

 Ive talked to Chris and many others in the know. Oh and also people much closer to brad himself than you:) Sunday night we got a no, tuesday we hired a coach who i think will have IU rolling. No hard feelings either way. go hoosiers!

I don't feel rejected, I never thought Stevens was coming and wasn't upset about it. I made a few comments to that effect, but that is all completely irrelevant now. IU has a coach.

As it pertains to DeVries & McCollum, I hope DeVries kills it here. I just really hope we are not going to be on the wrong side of a historic hire where McCollum goes on to win D1 championships and our guy doesn't.

I understand the "proven D1" vs "unproven D1" concern, but McCollum has already won championships...multiple championships.

I agree but also we'll never know. I think the time to get wrapped in conspiracies and smoke screens is over. Occam's Razor probably applies here like everywhere, anyway. Regardless, Coach Devries is here. Now, let's win some basketball games.
