McCasland is an impressive coach, but he's from TX, went to college in TX, and has coached all but 1 season in TX, who knows if he wouldve even come to IU if offered. No way Scott Drew was coming to IU no matter how much we offered him.

IU was never going to touch a coach with baggage, but Will Wade or Beard would've been bigger hires (I personally would've liked Wade) and likely would've won a lot of games

I feel our list of actual candidates was much smaller than we all realized..

Obviously it was. Ability to pay top 10 money and top 10 nil and can’t attract a proven winning coach.  Quite impressive really.  Would have much rather rolled with Cronin and he wasn’t my top pick.  Eric said he would have been interested.  Just a bungled efffort by Dolson.

Not necessarily…

Dolson very likely said…we did it your way last year, now look where it got us. I need a commitment to make things work and bring anyone in at this point - do I have your commitment ongoing?

A successful athletic department isn’t going to be giving ultimatums to the types of donors you need to fund a 7 million dollar roster. Zero chance he threatened the type of people he needed to secure that kind of money on top of profit share. I know nothing but I’m guessing Ferguson didn’t lose his access for supporting his buddy.  Also very little chance that he convinced them in 72 hours. That was my main point. If, and it’s an if, the numbers are accurate, that didn’t happen in a 72 hour vacuum. JMO

OMG this is the best video ever! Unless it was all tongue in cheek, and then? Well played.

What will this guy post when WVU hires McCollum , who is not “a Mountaineer” and leaves Drake for a better opportunity and more money?

HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAlololol

I didnt realize Jayden Stone was on the roster also and didn't play a single game because he got hurt in the preseason. He averaged 21 ppg the year before. Devries kind of assembled a really interesting team before people got hurt. It's a shame we didn't get to see them play the whole year together. At least we know he understands how to use the portal. I think well be good next year. I'm interested to see what kind of team he assembles. He has usually been guard heavy and I hope that continues but I think with increased NIL funds he can attract more versatile big men and wings that he previously may not have had access to.

Osterman says we are going to be 2x the B1G avg for bball rev share.  Of the $22M rev share, on avg around 75-80% goes to FB and that leaves $3-4M for bball with the remainder to other sports.  Double the avg bball rev share is going to be something like $6-7M, then layer on the NIL on top of that and I think we need to be $10M+ rev share + NIL to be a top-10 payroll program.

These are high level estimates, but you can see how $7M seems light.

I could have sworn someone posted that IU was at $17m total NIL Budget which would’ve been top 5 if the teams in the NCAA tournament.

lol, what a rube. Even West Virginians know their state is a sh*thole.

Would really prefer we not target other states like this; it's not like much of Indiana is some metropolitan haven, and there's nothing wrong with that. We just took their coach, so I think it's fine to leave it at that.
