IUBtown Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Have it on good authority Beard and his wife agreed for her to retract her statement and withdraw the charges in exchange for Beard to remain quiet about her past anger and abusive outbursts. Both signed a NDA and that's why you haven't heard either explaining more of the situation. RoadRage, MikeRoberts, jonz44 and 2 others 3 1 1 Quote

You can't even get the fact right that it was his fiancée and not his wife calls into question all of your other "facts." He wasn't falsely accused and just because she might have anger and abuse issues doesn't mean he doesn't have those same issues. CSP 1 Quote
Hornsby Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Neither is Brad Stevens but that's brought up by the minute. Stevens is brought up every 10 seconds. He just is not as hated as some as beard is. Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk Quote

Sorry was a mistype but the info is very real despite what you already had made up in your head. In fact a lot of the talk of him drinking and out at the bars at Texas and Texas Tech was his Fiance wanting to go out and "let loose" and he would go and make sure she went home before she started blacking out. Hence why all the reports of him out drinking. jonz44 and Scotty R 1 1 Quote
TargaFlorio Posted March 12 Posted March 12 A guy who seems pretty plugged in down in Austin just told an interesting story about Beard in the SearchSZN Twitter Spaces. Said there was another incident involving Beard and his fiance a week or 2 before the arrest. It happened in NYC when UT was there to play a marquee nonconference game. He said it happened at the team hotel in front of some of the traveling party. Beard was allegedly warned that something like that can't happen again. The incident leading to the arrest happened shortly after. go iu bb, cybergates, Home Jersey and 1 other 4 Quote

These things are rarely a one-off or happen by “accident.” They are typically a pattern of repeating and escalating behaviors until something bad enough happens there’s an intervention. In this case, and in many cases, that intervening moment was the police being called and an arrest being made. But because these things are generally a series of repeating behaviors it doesn’t end with that single intervention, but require an actual committed change in behavior by the offending party. Starts around 1 hour 17 minutes roughly Both sides of the story do point that Chris wasn't willing to get help or change behavior when confronted during his suspension. Both stories talk about an incident in New York, but it's from both sides. I think we can put together that there was an incident in New York, it probably wasn't quite what either side said it was, but there was some sort of situation on that trip. I think we can safely say at this point he refused whatever steps Texas wanted him to address (which was probably rehab). Edited March 12 by newcastle12 go iu bb and Home Jersey 2 Quote
IndianaSconnie90 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Incredible, we're staring down the barrel of a potential Brad Brownell hiring and Beard, the only guy who's been widely known to want this job, is basically out on an island. This ******* program i tell you. I guarantee you that 90% of the fanbase would rather see Beard than Brownell. Napleshoosier, HoosierMoore, jonz44 and 3 others 5 1 Quote
