Trish Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 My thoughts from the exhibition. - Rice is good. Extremely quick, elite ball handling through traffic and extremely gifted at getting downhill. I think he could be a good passer as well. Question is, can he shoot? We’ll see. - Malik and Ballo together may work, especially if they continue the high low offense. - Defensively, looked alright. We let them drive middle a few times which seems like a non Woodson principle. - Can Indiana shoot? That will be the final factor of success IMO. Tonight didn’t look good at all. Finally, it’s October. These games are damn near irrelevant considering neither team is ready for the season at this point. I’d like to see Trey start over Kaanan. Curious to see how Tucker looks. Will fans ever get to see Newton? MikeRoberts, Stuhoo, Joe_hoopsier and 1 other 2 2 Quote

He looks like an all-B1G level PG. and I don’t think I’m being hyperbolic. This is pretty much the main thing to take away. And we didn’t have Gallo or Tucker. Beat the #12 team. October so not looking too far into it, but always better to win than lose. Plenty of room for improvement too. If there wasn’t, that would be a different type of problem. Looking forward to the next time this roster is tested. MikeRoberts and OKHOOSIER 2 Quote

Uspshoosier Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Big road win for the fake NET rankings for exhibition portion of the schedule. In all seriousness great win even if it doesn’t count against a program that has a winning pedigree the last couple years under Barnes MikeRoberts and RaceToTheTop 2 Quote

He’s purely a spot up shooter in a system that doesn’t really reward them. I assume galloway will be getting most of those minutes. Dave from Dayton 1 Quote

He was killing it for a good stretch and was our best scorer for a solid portion of the game. Quote

I think Tucker will be more reliable situationally based on his mental abilities/schematic understanding. I think Tucker has the most upside for next level, but will need to develop the outside shot (lacking) and we haven’t seen what he does defensively yet Home Jersey 1 Quote
Stuhoo Posted October 27, 2024 Author Posted October 27, 2024 We just had a 41 point second half against an elite defensive team. That is strong. Napleshoosier, maxwell, MikeRoberts and 4 others 6 1 Quote

str8baller Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 No shocker Reneau was our leading scorer. I’m still surprised by the people that sleep on him. I know Ballo will get post touches, but everything down there should start with reneau. thebigweave, hoosierbgh and Joe_hoopsier 3 Quote
cbp4iu Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Hard to take stock in an exhibition I feel like but IU definitely in the 2nd half looked the part of a top 15 team. Also Myles Rice is going to will this team. Dave from Dayton 1 Quote
