Living in Palm Beach County Florida, I was kinda hoping that IUFB moves to FBS and makes it to the Boca Raton Bowl.

Wow IU is really stepping up their food selections at Memorial Stadium this year! Yummy!

My IUFB predictions for 2024

• A winning season
• Offensive records will be broken
• Defense will have more than 30 sacks and at least 20 takeaways 
• Ranked and in the CFP discussion at one point during the season
• Bowl eligibility earned by November
• Multiple NFL draft picks

I've seen this a couple places from different folks now...convince me. You thinking Rourke goes for 3,600? That's the only individual one I can see. It'll take some heavy lifting to get some of the team ones.

Keep in mind I can be eating a ton of crow on this when this is all said and done. And I'm basing that prediction on a healthy front 5.

The coaching staff. That's their M.O. since they've been together. They've been able to get the QB position to produce. That production is  a direct byproduct of WR production. I don't really have a thought of numbers from the QB position but I can see 2 from the WR core catching for 1k a piece. Or perhaps just 1 WR catching for 2k? I can also see Rourke and Jackson, both being capable to accomplish it, especially with the schedule and again, the coaching staff. So I was thinking the WR. The room is deep. The single season record for rec yards is 1265 set by Ernie Jones in 1987. We might see season or single game Rec TDs broken. We might see single game rec yards broken. But then again, since the room is deep the ball could get distributed evenly and my thoughts here are completely worthless. Who knows, man. I'm just extremely optimistic for this program now that we've got a coach with a resume.

However, per today's Daily Hoosier article (no looking yet...), guess what these former IU coaches have in common with Curt Cignetti?

• Lee Corso: IU record 41-68
• Terry Hoeppner: IU record 9-14
• John Pont: IU record 31-51
• Phil Dickens: IU record 20-41

I like it. I hadn't thought too much about it and was just wondering where peoples' heads were at. Hitting some Wilson and Deboer records would be great news for this group in year one.

Just win games that you are supposed to win and win a few coin flip games.  6-8 wins each year, be competitive in bowl games and win a few.  This can't be too much to ask for right?

Did they all have the President of the University and Athletic Director's full backing? Not to mention NIL? 

Also, Coach Cig is extremely unique compared to these hires. He's turned programs like IU around. These guys didn't. All of these cats came from established programs half of them being the same program. 

My biggest concern with Coach Cig is him jumping ship due to success because that's his past record. My hope is the president and AD keep him happy at all times.

Nope -- if that was the case I would have included Mallory (he had 14 winning seasons in 16 years as a head coach before IU).

It's more than that -- like Coach Cig, each of those four IUFB coaches had never had a losing season, and each with multiple years as a D1 head coach prior to IU. 

Breaking a cycle like we've had would be (in a football sense) unimaginably extraordinary. It has been 77 years since an IU football coach had a winning record at IU. Could miracles happen? Here we goooooooooooooooooo!

We should have Charlotte info on Monday. Maryland the next Monday, etc. unless networks put a game in the one-week window then you won’t know til the Monday or Sunday of game week.
