bodsbums Posted April 13 Posted April 13 https://t.co/XYqLgMqyop Sorry if someone else has posted this article and I didn’t see it. And as DeVries starts building Indiana’s roster from the ground-up, he said he won’t sacrifice any of his foundational values while navigating the chaos of the transfer portal. I agree it’s worth overpaying in year 1 to get the talent needed for success. But don’t sleep on Enright, dude averaged 6 assists a game with the talent level of CJ Gunn around him. If we get a team of players that can score, he will be just fine. RaceToTheTop 1 Quote

I’m not here to choose one or the other, but I earned my Bachelors at UK and currently live in Lexington (I know I know). Keeneland spring meet with thousands of southern co-eds in the tailgate lot in sundresses and cowboy boots is incredible. If the weather is right (and it is today), Keeneland is hard to beat. When you take away the girls and the drinking, Keeneland is kinda meh for me. With that being said, I don’t know of any big college events going on there today and I stay pretty plugged in around campus with my fraternity. So I don’t really know how much appeal it would have for a guy like Wilkerson today. Quote

HoosierHoopster Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Some key points on timing, from this article -- "During his lone season at West Virginia, he had only one Mountaineer return from the year prior. Through his first four weeks on the job in Morgantown, West Virginia, DeVries had just two commitments: his son, Tucker, who’s now following his dad to Bloomington, and guard KJ Tenner, who originally signed to play for DeVries at Drake University." "It’s a time-consuming process. At West Virginia, DeVries didn’t pick up momentum on the recruiting trail until his fifth week, when he landed three players. He added two more commitments the next week. Senior guard Javon Small, the Mountaineers’ leading scorer this past season, didn’t commit until May 1, 2024 — 38 days after DeVries officially took over." "DeVries started faster in Bloomington. Within DeVries’ first three weeks, Indiana received commitments from DePaul University guard Conor Enright and Davidson College forward Reed Bailey, while Tucker DeVries confirmed his intents to follow his father. Incoming freshman Trent Sisley, a four-star forward, also reaffirmed his commitment to Indiana." -- So, realistically, rstill on target Dave from Dayton and Rico 1 1 Quote

I don’t have an issue with Enright. There are contributing roles for guys like him on successful teams. We just can’t fill a roster out with guys at his level if we want to compete for spots toward the top of the conference and advance in the ncaa tournament. Quote

Deadline for undergraduate players to enter the portal is Apr 22 -- there are exceptions, like for students whose coaches leave the school they get an additional 30 days, and I believe the window does not apply to grad transfers.
