Jam Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 I hope he comes. He could’ve visited before Carlyle but chose another visit first. That having been said, still want him. Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 Lord that'd fix the rebounding issue in a hurry Fundamentals, including box outs would help immensely as well. The effort to offensive rebound whatsoever (Mgbako was getting better). And winning guards with instincts and hustle to win long rebounds. Home Jersey Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 If it's at all possible to get Rice, Carlyle, and Conwell... that could eventually (read: not necessarily next year) become a three-headed monster not terribly dissimilar to Spencer, Diarra, and Newton. Except... how do these guys rebound? I'd prefer Conwell over Hickman but if Carlyle and Rice are already in the bag I suppose it will be tough to land a 3rd guard. I think we really need to though. Carlyle and Rice and are typical rebounders for guards. Conwell is a + rebounding guard who would still be a pretty good rebounding 3. But I honestly still don't see getting all 3. Hopefully Carlyle and Rice, if they are who we ultimately land, can grow that part of their game. I like what I see for the most part. Do you think it would be any more realistic to hope for Hickman instead of Conwell? Quote

No offense to Payton Sparks, who I think the fans still like/support and really wanted to work out... But maybe Elijah Malone could be who we hoped we were getting this year. But pairing him next to Malik doesn’t seem like it would work. The paint is going to be suffocated especially with some guards on the perimeter who are not major threats of scoring from the outside. Defense would likely be fine, especially inside. Offense, I’m not buying it. Didn’t Woodson say he wanted to have a modern offense during his intro press conference? This seems like he’s going to go even further away from modern. Assembly Call had a great take on this the other day. Ballo played with Tubelis 2 years ago (6’10 240 lbs) who had almost identical shooting numbers to Reneau. They essentially played two traditional bigs with 3 dynamic guards only one of which shot above 40% from 3. They had a top 5 KenPom offense. Ballo is not a high usage player. He’s not somebody who takes 15 shots a game that you force feed every possession. He’s great in PnR lob action and a garbage man on the offensive boards. Get the ball up to the rim and he’s going to get it. bird4par, MemphisHoosier, IUsafety and 4 others 6 1 Quote
Popular Post Alford Bailey Posted April 12, 2024 Popular Post Posted April 12, 2024 We’ve had one good guard in three years. I don’t care if we play 2 bigs if we have a couple quality guards on the floor. That changes things. BGVille Hoosierfan, lillurk, bird4par and 16 others 18 1 Quote
