If there is, I'm not sure he would know. He had no idea Dorn was on campus till someone told him. This staff is keeping it very quiet.

People need to stop listening to him. He has no direct connection from what I see. All second hand.

Plus, I have a very, very difficult time believing nobody is visiting for Little 500 weekend.

If there ever were an ideal time to be hosting recruits, this is it ...

Me too I know for sure some were scheduled unless people cancelled it is very hard to believe.

Low block rate, bad rebounding rate, poor positioning…likely due to strength. Teams in the A10 scored at the rim at will with Bailey in the game. He’s a perimeter-oriented player that just happens to be tall.

The enthusiasm and hope can't be reasoned with. That's what makes a great fan.

I use video and pertinent statistics over sample size to project. In Baileys case his background is a thing. Well coached to a specific system that has a track record for building this type of big. He's the third in a row. He pops at first on the offensive end. He can do some Danny Wolf type things. Then you get to the other end of the floor and he's Magnus Pelkowski. So why is that? Will he be different at IU? Some of it is frame. Some of it is avoiding foul trouble because the offense ran through him and he played 33mpg. Scouting reports are iffy on him. I think he's between Tyler Wahl and Noah Waterman. In a positionless line-up of Bailey, DeVries, Dorn, Miles, Wilkerson where you get up and down and and impose tempo you might blow people out. But there's the grind it out side of the coin where Bailey may be the biggest bust in the portal.

Tend to agree with this. In the event you add a legit rim protector, he becomes one of the better luxury adds in the portal. He presents matchup problems offensively for a bunch of teams, but you’ll run into much bigger problems if he’s your defensive anchor for the majority of the minutes.

what was WVU defense like last year? Did they play many "defensive anchors"?

I’d feel a lot better about Bailey if this roster had guys like Javon Small, Sencire Harris, and Toby Okani guarding out on the perimeter. We don’t have that unfortunately.

This. The DeVries style is said to be packline but when I watch he uses some concepts but sticks closer to the 3 point guys than a traditional pack. His teams are always pretty good guarding the three. They do let the opposing interior guys eat more. His defense has always been better than the personnel suggests. I hope that trend continues.

I think that some of the Woodson stuff is bleeding over for him.  Woodson is gone but the athletic department folks are still there.  I get the impression that they are locking out the rumor monger guys.

They also didn’t play Tucker at the 4 because he was injured. So I’m not sure we’ll look like them. Or maybe we don’t play Tucker at the 4? Who knows…

I see all this worry about our size on the frontline.  Villanova 2018 says hello.  They crushed everyone through the tournament with not one person over 6'9 I believe.

They had pros all over that roster and their top 3 perimeters aren’t just pros, but very good pros.

We can play small, but that’s not a comparison I’d want IU fans to be thinking about.
