I bet the money is calling. Honestly didn’t think he had eligibility

He doesn't. He played 1 year at D2 then 3 at D1.

There is a lawsuit trying to get time spent at D2 to not count but I don't think that one will win, since D2 is still part of the NCAA. That is different than JUCO and NAIA not counting against eligibility since they are not part of the NCAA.

Swope would need that lawsuit to win or win a lawsuit of his own to get another year of eligibility. I'm highly skeptical that happens.

Brzovic is arguing that case currently in court.

I don’t know that we’ll see another defensive minded player as good as Reynolds play in Bloomington again. Very limited offensively, but an elite defender.

He, Buckner and Wilkerson were the best defensive guards to wear the Candystrpes in my lifetime

Great post. Greg Graham and Reynolds on the floor together was the best defensive back court we've had since 76. Wilkerson and Buckner were so damn big. They would catch ball handlers the second they crossed mid court and just converge on them.

Went to Castle as well. Always need money too! HA

Lots of Newburgh/Castle representation on this board....that's awesome!

It doesn't surprise me as there are a lot of IU fans and alumni in Newburgh from my travels in the tri-state area as a carpet cleaner years ago.

You will never see me "wildly excited" about any thing Woodson did, short of "retiring". Please do go back and review my posts... I said from the start that no matter who Woodson got from the portal, nor how much talent they had on paper, the proof would be in the coaching - that no matter what the collection of talent looked like, Woodson was still the coach and that it would not end well. Turns out that I was a freaking Nostradamus on the subject.

DeVries is proven to be a better coach that Woodson. He resurrected two D1 programs in short order. DeVries seems to have a clear plan about his portal work, and appears to be building a team of parts... and it's true, we don't know how this will turn out, but I am way more optimistic about this team than I was for the past 8-10 years.

All Woodson ever did was look bewildered and make excuses for the poor performance of his team. Without TJD, Woodson would have missed the tournament all four years...

All good, you might have been one of the few people that wasn’t gushing over the haul we had this time last year. It was almost unanimous that we won the off-season, best team we’ve had in a decade etc. I’m seeing these almost verbatim posts here again much like the 2021 and 2025 coaching search posts.

i hope this one is different and that the pieces do work well together but that’s tbd. On paper it looks good so far but it did last year too so I am in wait and see mode. Glad to see you are feeling good this go around!
