If you want to be a big boy program you have to big boy program things. We consistently don’t. We apparently will only spend the money for top tier talent when the coach has already revealed themselves to be incompetent. No, we have a fanbase that did nothing but ***** about dropping bags for kids who didn't want to be here. Now, we've had a coach for less than 2 weeks, one guy he probably thought wasn't good enough to overpay for goes somewhere else, and people lose their f'ing minds and want to drop bags again. I'm guessing Woodson and his family are realizing how fortunate they are to be rid of this nonsense. Brill, Justin Kotter and Scotty R 1 2 Quote

woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 Geez, we miss out on Conwell and people start melting down. Here is hoping people woke up and realize it’s 1 player and there are actually talented players available to get. Let it play out and see what the roster looks like at the end of the portal season. Exactly. If the 4 million is correct and we have 10 million to play with, I'm glad we passed. Unless He is going to be player of the year, no way do I want to pay 40% of our money to one personSent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk Quote
newcastle12 Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 Indiana has a complete roster to build and i can't see them getting into a bidding war over 1 guy and using up a quarter of the budget. Louisville is filling s lot less spots as is Creighton abd they have their roster cost more in mind and are just adding a key piece so they can overpay for one or two guys We've been portaling for years we know how this works why is everyone freaking out over a guy or two before the tournament. Maryland got their coach yesterday. TT doesn't have one. JustWinBaby, HinnyHoosier, Scotty R and 2 others 5 Quote

Kids are being passed up or missed in the recruiting process in high school that are D1 worthy, then having to take spots at the D2 level. I think D1 is also filled with a bunch of poor evaluators of talent, as well. Quote

CSP Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 It's hard to take 247 Sports seriously after how bad they whiffed on Cignetti's class + having Danny Wolf the 26th rated player in the portal and Myles Rice, Kanaan Carlyle, and Ballo all rated above him. 8bucks and Chris007 2 Quote
DSUMMITT Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 How funny would it be if our bench is Purdue guys? :) https://www.si.com/college/purdue/basketball/report-purdue-sophomore-camden-heide-enters-ncaa-transfer-portal-college-basketball Honestly thought Colvin and Heide are decent options benchwise - know it probably won't happen but would make me giggle. If a kid doesn't go the AAU route, which happens, they might get missed or "devalued" since coaches put so much time into the circuits. Again, to your point, that is on the coaches. CSP 1 Quote

I'd take Colvin as a starter at the 2 or 3. He could be a great defender. JustWinBaby, DSUMMITT, ebridges24 and 2 others 5 Quote

It’s more of a system issue with Rice and Ballo. They both were cornerstone pieces for tourney teams and finished #1 and #2 in the PAC 12. Carlyle was definitely overrated but think Woodson screwed a lot of these kids. AkronHoosier, Juwan Moye, hoosierfan6157 and 4 others 7 Quote

What's Woodson got to do with Ballo's off the court decision making? It's not mostly the system that was either of those two's issues. But, again, neither should have been in Danny Wolf's stratosphere. Quote

What's the infatuation with Mullins still other than him being from Greenfield? He looked severely overmatched last night and that was against peer-aged competition. I think he's in for a huge awakening next year. He's the Josh McRoberts of this generation in my opinion. Never won anything in high school despite boasting several individual accolades. Never will wish ill on a kid, but he had the chance to play at IU or Purdue and chose UConn. Not sure why so many are still pining for him? woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 Hard not to feel uneasy at this point. It’s been over two weeks and we don’t have a staff, don’t have a GM, none of his players/recruits from WVU seem to want to follow him, the only portal win is a role player from DePaul, and we’re apparently being outbid for our top targets. Need to start making some moves. If our staff is still with their teams playing, we won't hear until their season is done or they are waiting to announce all of them together. Just relax peopleSent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk Quote
