6'6 Sophomore who took a little leap from his freshman year.  Looks like a good athlete and shot 39% from 3 (only took 54).  Has a sort of funky shot, but if it goes in, who cares.

He has decent rebounding numbers for a guard.

GT was terrible last year, but I didn't watch them, so I dont know the reasons.

Could be a decent multi-year guy.  Feels like a money-ball type guy who you hope to surround with some bigger splashes in the portal.

Mustaf was a priority guy for Woody/Kenya, took an official, and IU was 1 of his 4 finalists. He’s certainly interesting. A really good athlete and a big, strong frame at 6’6”.  Would be a nice piece in 3 guard lineups because he’s big enough to defend 90% of college wings. Has high end defensive tools, though no idea where he is right now. And he takes the ball to the rim on anyone. Man, I just wish the stroke was better and he has to develop some kind of mid-range game.

How funny would it be to bring in Cam Heide and Myles Colvin?

Cam Heide always looked like he was ready to break out when he was at Purdue.  Really good athlete, had a good shot.  But for some reason both at Purdue and Texas usage rate was incredibly low.

Mustaf and Harris strike me as smart, high upset pickups that won't break the bank, but raise the talent level of the roster. Mustaf in particular really picked up his scoring the second half of the year.

Pair those two with Burton and brumbaugh I think that’ll be a good 4. Get some mid major talent to fill in some gaps and then get a big. Is it realistic? Who knows

Wasn’t Mustaf asking for more than IU was willing to pay at that time/his Dad (former NBA guy) wanted PT guarantees or something along those lines?

Which likely means low BBIQ or issues with effort. Those are two very high level coaches he's leaving. What IU needs in abundance besides talent are players with high IQ and savviness. Those types of players also find a way to mesh with teammates quickly.

I seem to remember hearing there were some expectations but I don’t know specifics. Jerrod was super involved in his recruitment and supposedly set some pretty rigid parameters on some things. Probably best left alone. But he died a year, year and a half ago.

Is KJ the connection here?  Maybe a mentor role

When people talk about how knowledgeable the IUBB fanbase is, in comparative terms that’s probably true.

And then there’s this guy. Dorn and Mustaf quite literally can’t be more different as players. They don’t share a single basketball similarity. Not one.

Yeah

Of all the takes, that tweet might be the worst.

I’m sure he is. Mustaf had a Georgetown offer when Kenny was there. Started at DeMatha HS before he went to a prep school that I’m spacing on and then OTE. Played EYBL for Boo Williams which is a DMV-based program. I’m sure he knew his dad forever.
