WayneFleekHoosier Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Day 5 of saying. I really want Goode back. I’m (Goode) with Leal being back. He loves Indiana and the Hoosiers and he can contribute if needed. However as I’ve said all offseason, I felt like this roster needed 1 more splash and/or big depth and not getting that stinks. Nothing against Leal, because it could have been anyone else’s spot. He's a more effective cutter, a better passer. Anything outside of shooting, he's better to a lot better than Goode, IMO. He turns the ball over way more than he creates assists. 6% differential there. Goode may not pass well but he doesn’t turn it over at an high percentage. Offensively he is a train wreck. Passes on jumpers. Scared to shoot. Can’t have that on offense. Reed and Alexis will be more on cuts than our guards. He isn’t a catch or shoot or a come off screen guard. Essentially he is useless on offense. Kid is a 12th or 13th bench player on a good team while Goode will most likely see the rotation most likely as a backup. J34 and Mopladysman 2 Quote

I just checked 4 different mock drafts and none of them had Neoklis Avdalis going in the first 2 rounds. Maybe there is enough NIL left to lure him to Bloomington. Now that would be a SPLASH. BA47591 Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Bailey, DeVries, Goode, Dorn, Wilkerson. Run the halfcourt offense through Bailey and lead the nation in 3pt attempts. Use some token pressure to force the pace and drop into a 3/2 zone. We'll have to win in shootouts. We can't defend with these players. Go down the list. Conerway can play with Alexis when Bailey comes out. Then maybe some box/1. I mean we're assuming Wilkerson, Dorn and Miles can play infront of 17k regularly. I wonder what a full staff to start could've done? RaceToTheTop, bigrod, Pagoda and 1 other 4 Quote

That might be the worst collection of players to play a zone that I've ever seen. Quote

Nope "lead the nation in 3pt attempts" Nope "drop into a 3/2 zone" Nope "maybe some box/1" Nope ________________________________ If the quoted segments are your expectations you're in for many, many surprises. Conerway is the overwhelmingly likely option for a starting guard spot. Alexis is reasonably likely to start at the 5. Devries' teams have never been near the top of college hoops in three point attempts. For the past five years his teams have been ranked from 50th to 273rd in number of three point attempts per game. We will not play zone. NO TEAM plays box 1 as part of any extended, schemed strategy. Home Jersey, Soulsnipes and str8baller 3 Quote

Say what you want about Leal's individual offensive abilities, the ball moved better and the offense was more efficient when he was on the court. These 2 articles seem to indicate he's thought to be a 2nd round pick. A couple of mocks I looked at had him in the 40s overall. https://www.si.com/nba/draft/newsfeed/nba-teams-should-consider-neoklis-avdalas-in-the-first-round-of-the-2025-nba-draft https://www.si.com/nba/draft/prospect-profiles/nba-draft-scouting-report-greece-neoklis-avdalas Of course, he could make more money next year in the NCAA than as a 2nd rounder in the NBA. A year in the NCAA could also boost his draft stock so he'd make more money from his first contract. He's been invited to the combine so I don't think he decides until after that. Quote

Two years in a row he played his way into the rotation from that original expectation. Sure he's a great 10-12 guy, but if Leal rockets up the depth chart to getting significant minutes, it means you are not a "big time" P4 school, at least in that current season. Stuhoo 1 Quote

Saw Brewster play Link Academy at the Quincy Shootout in January and that night in a game with 3 MCDAA’s and nothing but HM kids playing Wilkins was the best player on the floor, flat took over late and hit a 20 footer at the horn to win it for Brewster.
