Popular Post Pagoda Posted April 30 Popular Post Posted April 30 After a coaching search and all these recruiting processes, I'm "burned out" of all these X/Twitter accounts and their symbolic pictures, hints, and teases. I'm also pretty sure 90%+ of what they post is what they read here and on other IU boards. Maybe a few of them have real info, but not many. skhoosier2, Hardwood83, Jet812 and 7 others 10 Quote
Okram Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Leal actually could have had one more year if they just sat him after his ankle injury in 2022-2023 instead of playing him a handful of times in mop up duty the last couple minutes of a few games. Quote
tyappleg Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Might be referring to Rod Clark as an assistant and not a player (check that thread for info) Home Jersey and CSP 2 Quote

It does seem like Goode and Leal as the 2 options we are looking at trying to add. Goode for sure, but the hints from the burnerverse indicate Leal as the surprise candidate. lol CSP 1 Quote

Home Jersey Posted April 30 Posted April 30 How does Leal conceivably have any eligibility left? Not buying that at all. Hardly buy the Goode possibility either at this point AZ Hoosier, CSP and rayl456 3 Quote

Hardly buy the Goode possibility either at this point 20-21 doesn't count. In 22-23 he was limited to 11 games (24 minutes). His case is basically the same as Goode's as the NCAA has already ruled that 20-21 doesn't count. That said, I don't think either would win eligibility. Home Jersey 1 Quote

Hardly buy the Goode possibility either at this point He has a similar (yet weaker especially since he got a covid year anyway) case to Goode. He would have had a great case if, like I said above, they hadn’t played him a few times late in the season for a couple minutes. Leal played 11 games in 2022-2023 for a total of 24 minutes. He injured his ankle early in the season and could have just been shut down rather than log 17 minutes in the 8 games he appeared in after the injury. His 11th game was 1 minute vs Kent State in the round of 64. Edited April 30 by Okram Home Jersey 1 Quote

Each has four years that have counted since 20-21 didn't and both played a season that would have put them under the number of games that counted BUT they played games in the second half of the season. That said, I'm not sure adding both makes IU a better team. Dorn and Goode are similar (although I think Goode is better). Right now, Bailey/Alexis/Harris/DeVries are the only players we have that can play at the 4 or 5. Still would prefer to get one more big even if it's a backup or a reach. He can keep the ball in front of him.. The ball doesn't stick in his hands and he cuts well, opportunisticly... Two people he doesn't mesh with... Gonna go ahead and call the Leal possibility 0. Goode, if he gets the waiver would be a nice add… that’s only slightly less hard to see happening than Leal though IMO. bigrod 1 Quote
