I may be in the minority but I have zero patience and expect results immediately. There is no time for no dang rebuild. The administration has imo made this worse by waiting a year to long. Other schools have had success year one with a new coach and team. I don't care if he gets a group of 5 stars or had to get walkons to step in. We better be winning right now!

Would you consider the year that L'ville or Kentucky had a "successful" year?

Define winning right now. Does it mean competing for a National Championship next year? S16? Comfortably in the tournament? Better than .500 in conference?

I think most expect IU to better than recent years next year. Upper half of the B1G and comfortably in the tournament in year 1.

People in this fanbase don’t like baby steps.  Let’s first make the tourney and consider that a success.  I truly believe building a 100% from the portal or getting recruits last minute is a success every year.  You have to have an infrastructure.

Yes that is closer to my expectations. Infact we play kentucky next year I believe. We better be getting players and building a team ready to be competitive with them. If we are losing games like that by 20 plus I will not be a happy camper. And I believe the majority won't be either. We pay players now this isn't the same atmosphere any coach has ever walked into our job in.

Conwell started following Tucker DeVries today, doesn’t mean much but figured I’d note it

....have to admit, having the opportunity to play along side a "gun-slinger" like Tucker can definitely help on the recruiting trail.

Yes we do play them. They have another full rebuild to do as well.

....Nothing wrong with what I said, what so ever!

....great players want to play with great players! Obviously.... The problem are the ones who don't want to share the limelight with other just as good or better that them. Coach DeVries is looking for a multiple gunslingers that want to play team ball......

Not surprised but Xavier Booker in the portal . Hasn’t developed during his time in East Lansing . Gotta think the Drew Adams and Indiana Elite connections make him a possibility for IU if they don’t get Flory . If the staff think thier is untapped talent and potential there . Idk personally I’ll leave that to the experts .

Ant Wright in X always seemed to think he wasnt getting a fair shake and should have played more in his time at MSU ,

Izzo did an awesome job last year.  Bookers problem is he doesn’t play hard all the time and doesn’t put in the work.  People who have coached him or coaches don’t think he loves basketball enough.

DeVries was hired exactly two weeks ago.

It sounds like at least one of the main assistants (from TTU) has been busy with tournament obligations.

Drew Adams appears to have been at work for IU already behind the scenes.

DDV brought some coaches/staff with him from WVU too.

These guys are at work. They hardly know IU themselves yet and selling it to top prospects who have tons of options.

Hopefully before the dead period we land a couple big fish.

It's been quiet the past two weeks, I feel like we're about to hear a flurry of stuff the next couple days especially.

26-9

4th in the conference , semi-finals of the btt

Sweet 16

Top 10 portal class

Those expectations are a rough average of what Pope, Kelsey, and May did last year. Probably not far from what he would've done with Tucker healthy.

So this year a high payroll version of the identity we can expect the next 6 years. We need 8 studs in their roles. We have 1. We need 5 players that are a combination of low level maybes and promising hs players. We have 1.

I'm sure there are a lot of things going on and I'm not panicked. We're going to need to make 5 people millionaires.

Man, idk. Definitely don't want to go into this as your projected starter but if he's the backup guy then it's probably worth a shot.

I will say, it doesn't seem to fit the DeVries agenda unless Booker can convince people the narrative about him is false.

Not sure Adams is overly helpful here. Booker didn't play for Indiana Elite rather George Hill and I believe briefly with Indy Heat.

Honestly, Notre Dame would be the best fit for Booker assuming he can gain admission. Shrews is a Cathedral grad as is Booker and the staff has a ton of local Indy connections.

If the stringer is still empty on the 7th, then I'll begin getting concerned.

I have wondered how some will respond if we don't have much success with our perceived top targets.

I think we already know how they'll respond...
