I think Samet fits with Sherrell a lot better than Reibe or Tiller. Insane upgrade in the front court assuming Sherrell commits. Add Rancik and it's honestly an A+ front court haul IMO

I much prefer this scenario personally over trying to strong arm the best player we are after in the portal.

If we really have this massive war chest - Yigitoglu, Sherrell, and Rancik would give us incredible flexibility at the 4/5 depending on matchups.

But I'd spend big on a premium wing before a third premium big.

So question.  We are clearly big spenders this time around.  

Do we think this was the plan all along?  Or once the portal opened we realized 14m was not going to cut it for a competitive team, and somebody upped their monetary commitment big time?

It seems like when this thing first started, we weren't going to be spending like this.  Maybe the Estrella loss jump started the money spending? 

So maybe JP Estrella saved Indiana basketball?
