I've been checking here and the socials for any indication for how things went. Can't find anything yet. Hoping the track on his IU IG post was a pleasant hint.

In the world of NIL social media means less than it already did.

Never has my LinkedIn status with my interviewer mattered for my acceptance of a job offer

I'm having a little fun with the fact that his IU IG post features a song with a line about making a decision last night and living with it.

You're conflating issues. Me joking about the lyric aside, no one is confusing a young man posting about a visit and the importance NIL factoring into a recruitment.

Over on peegs they've been saying for some time that it looks like it's between IU, Michigan, and OSU for Thompson. I would think that the Costello commitment takes UM out of the running. UNC has been trying hard so maybe they'll take Michigan's spot but it would be nice if it's now really between IU and OSU. Or maybe he sees himself more as a wing than a stretch 4 and UM is selling that to him.

It would be great to land him, that's for sure.

IU or OSU battle. IU is the perceived leader as we near a decision

Fingers crossed! I would really like to see this coaching staff land a massive recruit for 2026. If I’m not mistaken a top 10 HS recruit would be the first in a long while?

Mgbako was top 10 out of high school... before him I think Langford would be most recent? Might be forgetting someone

That’s true - I wasn’t counting Mgbako since technically he committed to Duke but then decommitted when he realized he wouldn’t see the floor there. I’m thinking more of establishing a pipeline of top HS players to straight to IU. Langford sounds about right!

I believe you’re correct on 1st commitment straight from HS. Bates and Reneau wer top 30ish kids who de-committed elsewhere.  The highest rated kid since Langford was Hood-Schifino who was in the 25 range.

Hood-Schifino was a decommit as well before he chose IU.   Langford was probably Louisville bound until they got in all that trouble.

That’s right. Forgot about Pitt. Argh, old man brain.

Announcement next week

Allmond and Thompson both pop next week, gut says we get one at least? Do you think there is a preference or one more likely than the other?
