Ohio state has lost 8 of 9 but yes any win is going to help keep him around. That's the issue.

- he brought us multiple SW16's. Didn't get beyond that, at least in part due to circumstances that just happen, but we beat UK on one of those runs.

- Our offense, sometimes wacky with the dribble-hand-off action, repeatedly scored at the top of DI, the D was often a mess, but man how I miss seeing our guys score the damn ball like that.

- Got us that unforgettable W over UK, the Wat shot, leaving chicken Cal refusing to play at IU thereafter....

So sure he couldn't maintain and lost the level of recruiting he needed to succeed at IU, lost the HS coaches, gave schollys to guys who had no business playing for IU or any school at that level, and the U wanted to  actually get "back" to competing at the top of DI, for NCAA championships, and Crean had fallen off, most agree it was time to move on.

But man, talk about screwing the pooch -- we then replace him Miller???? That was a horrible, horrible and stupid move.

I would love to see the level of guys and conference success with NCAA runs we had under Crean. We had teams who were championship level, imo, finding that guy who can bring those kind of players and run deep regularly, difficult.

Let’s not forget Crean ran off MattRoth who was a 40+% shooter from 3 in favor of hanner perea and Peter jerkin… when we needed a 3pt specialist to break the zone.. karma I guess.

someone posted about the intangibles of bring the IU coach (being involved in the community, coaching clinics, video messages and shows, teaching fans how to watch the game, etc) Archie embodied none of those qualities so he should have never been hired. 
 

I would have rather had Mike Woodson and Larry Brown as coaches instead of Archie.

With the Pacer's schedule, I don't think Quinn even watches IU. I'm sure he hears about the outcome but he relies more on what Dolson who is at every game home and away has to say.

Yesterday doesn’t change anything. Beating the second worst team in the league in the last minute while being down 98% of the game isn’t encouraging at all.

It does change things; a road win to get to 6-6 in conference changes the season's ceiling and temporarily stops the bleeding.

However, I did not see any real joy or exuberance from Woody in the post-game presser. So, I still think there's a real chance that after this year Woody will have had enough of this shite.

Yes, he looks and acts beat down, IMO

The bleeding has stopped temporarily.  I would like to see us compete against Turdue, at least keep fairly close

Something I saw most likely happen from last nights game was getting Ohio State to decide to get rid of Chris Holtmann and make the move to hire someone we’d want to replace Woodson lol 

I know the fear a lot of people don’t wanna risk and deal with is this staff doing just enough to stay afloat with wins like this and stay an inconsistent program, while other teams in our position make the moves for coaches we wish we had. 
 

I agree with Stuhoo as well. His post game presser even after being able to pull out that win was just no joy at all and like he’s wore out and ready to be done.

I agree I think this season has taken its toll on him, and his family. He looks tired. I used to see his wife at games, but I don't see her much anymore. His daughter just had a baby. I see fans on Twitter tweeting at her saying her dad needs firing and even one person calling him the N-word. In this day and age when you are 66 why put yourself, and your family through this when you don't need the money?

One thing about Holtmann is his AD is retiring but not till July 1st. The new AD from Texas A&M doesn't start till July so does he get a pass for the next season?

I almost feel like a 'medium/reasonable' end to this season would be the most likely scenario that would enable Woody to be satisfied that he's riding into the sunset with his head held high.

Yeah this is wrong.  There’s a reason why I title it Coach Woodson.  You can gripe about the performance but never at the man in a demeaning way.  It should not be personal but just simply business. Plus as I reiterate time and time again, the administration has more at fault than the coach himself.

That was a misinterpretation on Twitter, long story... the person that sent the confusing tweet is black. They meant to use a comma in a spot where it REALLY would have helped. They did explain themselves, eventually.
