And purely FWIW, at that time, Archie was considered an up and coming coach.  Unfortunately he turned out to be a down and outing coach.

As an outsider I was excited for the hire.  But, the hard part was in the interviews one would have needed to figure out he wouldn’t translate well to IU.  That’s tough to do, but it’s why we pay ADs the big bucks.  Oh well.

Getting blown out on prime time slots to B10 schools like Iowa and Nebraska is embarrassing, but each time it happens also seriously impacts Indiana’s already degrading brand. That’s why he should retire mid season. To tell the CBB world we’re as serious about basketball as we are football. The small likelihood of winning a few more games is just an added bonus. Relieve the fans of the obligation to watch this shameless display already… other teams players are openly disrespecting our players to media, lol. Meanwhile our “coach” is Bigfoot on the recruiting and media trails… please get serious…

But, I was told his teams didn't play defense and he was just another Archie Miller...and that it would take multiple years for him to win here...

Michigan is one of 7 teams in the top 20 in offensive and defensive efficiency on kenpom. If that holds he’ll be poised to make another deep run.

that would be one heck of a turnaround.

We haven’t even played any of the top 9 teams yet and still have 2 horrendous losses.

My prediction: Woody will resign on Sunday, March 16, 2025.

Just after the Big Ten Tournament Championship game and after the NCAAT seeding is announced.  Probably before 8 PM ET.  If that does not happen then...just turn out the lights of SSAH.

We will see if this administration is serious about basketball in the next two months.

I think Mike Woodson highly disagrees with that.

For people in this thread might be too hard to watch them.   I agree they are fun to watch however they have flaws that will prevent them from making a run in March.   They got to clean up the TO situation and stop letting teams come back on them.  Wolf is a beast

Johnell Davis not being able to transfer in was a huge blow. It’s one thing that gives me hope for Dusty, he’s experiencing impacts of Michigans weird transfer rules in year one. IU will always be a place you can win bigger in basketball, alma mater aside.

Of our next 10 games, we will be lucky to go 2-8 or 3-7.  That would put us at would put us at 16-11 (7-9) or 15-12 (6-10), that would be a fine kettle of fish and yet we all see it but the Administration sits back and does nothing instead of trying to save this season.

Too many cooks in the kitchen. The Cig hire was mostly Dolson with input from Whitten, which is how it should be. We didn't have boosters/BOT members/donors trying to meddle with that hire because none of them cared about football.

Well they screwed to pooch and probably don’t care about basketball either, I know most of on here definitely don’t as much as we did

Woody should give all the money he has made at IU to Trayce Jackson Davis.

TJD had w will to win, good leadership skills and had the chops to back it all up.  Nobody on last year or this years team can’t even come close to that

lol and TJDs first Woody team actually holds the dubious distinction of having the the worst Coach Woodson era loss. 29 points, St. Mary’s R64. I’ll say this for Woody, he’s consistent. I think we rose color the TJD years due to how atrocious Archieball was. The Woody Warts have been here from the jump.
