I didn’t defend anyone last Spring, I merely shared with people the fact that there was not an internal groundswell to dismiss Woodson, in spite of our performance. People pushed back on that and criticized me, but I was completely accurate. I explained how and why decisions were made on such matters and, though people took issue with it, I was right. I jumped in today because people were calling for Woodson to be fired now and I said that wouldn’t happen, and why. Later, rinse, repeat.

So, fire him now? Who replaces him tomorrow? Who supports that (assistant coaches)? What prevents more than a few players from departing at the semester?

The players need guidance and a winning system. They are getting none of that, that translates to the court. The players need someone they respect and trust and that leads to some on court results to instill those values to continue.

Basics like Hustle, team-play, ball movement, player movement, guarding YOUR man.

Literally just need a simple system to flourish in and see some results.

Can I coach them?

His status for this season was resolved so, yes, I did. It’s perfectly plausible because it’s accurate. I’m sure you can easily verify that as factual.

There are people who still support Woody as a coach in any way, shape, or form?! Woody could win the Big Ten and natty this year and I'd still prefer he be gone.

As many have said on here Woody shouldn't be coaching at IU and wouldn't have been considered if he didn't play here 100 years ago. The best thing for IU and Woody (sans the $$$ IU pays him) is for him to be retired playing golf every day not coaching playing golf as much as possible. The bigger issue has been and continues to be the administration that lets this stuff happen. It's almost as if some on here knew what was going on and many others caught it early after seeing the **** show that IU basketball has become.

Fire Woody, hire the most competent coach without all the political BS.

This needs to be restated as Duke and UNC have had 10x the recent success that IU has. Seems there is a formula that works and it isn’t what IU is doing. Hiring by stakeholders/committee etc doesn’t work. We’re the poster child for that

Doc, you could take care of your patients during the day and coach the team as a side hustle and would get more out of them.

Sorry... I can't see you being in this thread for any significant time and not be posting in defense of Woodson et al. Just not possible, IMO.

Again, the people were right. We should have made the move last year to avoid this mess. I doubt Woody digs himself out of it. Dusty May or Bruce Pearl would have been celebrated choices. Sadly, in basketball terms, Beard could do work at Indiana with NIL.

I’m sure we can find a winner out there with top 5 NIL support. Just getting a team that plays with passion would be a start.
