Seems possible, likely even, with the one caveat that those legal issues may already be worked out and only known to an exceptionally small group of people, with a vested interest in avoiding any more leaks. I think Old Fart is right that this is likely planned for a 5pm news dump.

The other possibility is that Woodson is being really difficult behind the scenes. I know everybody wants us to move fast, but Dolson probably has to sew up every last thread of support to make sure there isn’t a giant rift among the VIP crowd when Woody is gone. You don’t want one of Quinn or Woody’s buddies to get their feelings hurt because they weren’t consulted and then pull six figures worth of NIL funding.

They probably figured since he played here the job was his as long as he wanted it, so it'd be too late on their feelings being hurt.
