Fire Coach Woodson Thread

They might finish that high. They already beat PU by 11 and only lost by 4 at Rutgers.

Not saying PSU is a juggernaut, by any stretch of the imagination, but they aren’t complete push overs either. That being said,  I agree with Chris that it is sad PSU was favored by 7.5.

Sounds like MR is out for a bit. Will be interesting to see how we continue to play without him and, if we continue to play better on the offensive side, how Woody will handle MR’s return. Hopefully, surely (but who knows) he sees what absolutely everyone watching the games sees when we only play one big.  I think even the guy that sleeps next to Woody must see the difference.

Oh they will but they have to continue with the same EE!  I do hate that he’s hurt though but it shouldn’t take his injury to see that!

I still think they squeak into the dance, get blasted in the first weekend, and then a couple days later Dolson (Buckner) announces the Return of the King.

If that happens and he returns, it'll probably be like last year with radio silence from the AD. No announcement, no statement of support, nothing.

Let's hold off on all this tournament talk stuff. This team has alot to prove yet before anyone has any right to even bring it up. I think in February early we will all have a much clearer picture.

Maybe.

I hope Dolson is the new King.  He might be.  He built up football, which resulted in the University being showcased all season long including on Big Noon and Game Day, and he is going to increase our athletic dept revenue by way more than anyone else ever has, which everyone will notice.  He was right about wanting to get rid of Woody last year.  Things have changed.  It's Scott's athletic dept!  (fingers crossed)

An average team played better than average to beat another average team. We were 7.5 underdogs which is very sad that were ever an underdog in basketball to PSU

Yeah, I gotcha.

Sad that this is where we are now.

Stand by it though. When the majority think we’re gonna lose, and we never trail in the second half, it’s something

Good call.  I forgot he did.

Davis' last year we made it in as a 6th seed and lost in the Rd of 32 to Gonzaga after beating SDSU in the first round. I still remember that SDSU game, Robert Vaden made a clutch three to seal the game.

That was another talented team but we had lost DJ White with a broken foot. That 2005-2006 team started to play better when Davis announced he was resigning at the end of the season in February. This seemingly ended the distraction of his uncertainty and players all rallied around him each other to finish the season on a strong note. Davis was also well liked, so it's not surprising the team wanted to rally behind him. Robert Vaden followed him to UAB and I think there was a time that we weren't sure if DJ was going to stay either...of course he stayed which set the tone for an incredible 1-2 punch between him and Gordon a couple of years later.

BTW - Gordon was at the PSU game and spoke to the team after.

Nice of EJ to do that.  He didn’t have the best experience at IU unfortunately…

No thanks!  I don’t listen to his post game comments.  He doesn’t say anything worth listening to because it is usually the same sh*t different day. He’ll talk about the hump, he’ll take credit for them hitting 3’s instead of the “I can’t shoot for them” or something like that

Well if Reneau  doesn't return soon and we start losing, Woodson will treat that injury like he treated X's injury.

"Man,  we were going to be so good, but losing X (Reneau) was just too big to overcome. Not Mike Woodson's fault.  Buy me some more players and stop bothering me."  signed the King.

Teams will start adjusting to iu with only one big now if he isn't coming back soon. They will certainly scout out running the one in. The better teams will defend iu well on the perimeter.
