Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Recommended Posts

I don't ever remember an interim coach being brought in from the outside after the HC being fired mid season. I just don't see that happening and it isn't like you can come in and I still a new offense or defense this late into the season. If they do eventually fire Woodson mid season the interim will be one of the current assistant coaches.

I think Scott was taking in how dysfunctional our whole basketball program was yesterday. He has a lot to work with moving forward.

Yea.  He’s got to fill the power void as Quinn steps back and get the trustees/donors to stop meddling.  Tough ask.  Pam needs to help with this too and get people off his back and provide cover.

I still think we get an interim not on staff, like Crean or Fife!

Whenever money is involved, the stakeholders want a return on their investment to

Has this happened before?  Could not think of a time in college basketball an interim was hired from the outside but it is an interesting idea.

Those of you that want Crean as the interm, why not just give it to Hulls? He helped bring the program back from the depths and worked his tail off to do so. He knows what it takes. Of course, there is the argument that Woodson should know how to do this since he learned from one of the best, but still....

Also, no one would ever expect Hulls to keep the job regardless of the level of success he achieves with the team.

Neither one is happening. They aren't bringing a guy in from outside to finish the season. They also aren't giving it to a guy that's never even had to come up with a scouting report.

I am not sure but I know Crean and Fife are available and it was posted on here that non of the assistants are interested and if they aren’t interested, then who do they turn to, Cig?

Maybe he should do the scouting report for the Purdue game on Friday? All the scouting reports and/or execution of them the entire season have been awful....

Well it's easy to say that when the HC doesn't listen to the assistants half the time.

We have the worst Coaching Staff in college.

Give the interim to Calbert…he’s a Hoosier legend and he’s not chomping at the bit to be a head coach.

Could that have been the reason for the dust up in the final seconds of the game yesterday? :107:

The photo of him looking at Woodson made its rounds across the internet yesterday. It wasn’t a look of joy.

Dan Dakich

I in no way want Dan Dakich as an interim coach I just thought he was brought in outside at the Sampson debacle. I now know that Dakich was on staff.

I think he would consider it if it meant staying behind for next year’s staff (if a change is made).

Nah - his loyalty to Woodson is a roadblock that I think keeps him out of the role.
