This might answer that. Lol. 3 of the top 10 losses ever by a head coach at Indiana in a matter of a month.

I don't think that list is complete. It's missing the 50 point, 106-56 beat down IU got at Minnesota in 1994 at the very least.

That said, 3 25+ point losses in a single season is ridiculous. It's even more ridiculous with the preseason expectations of this team based on "winning" the portal.

Is this just home games because I remember us losing by 50 at Minnesota in 1994

ChatGPT is drunk. We won the UCLA game in 1992. It was the regional finals.

Yeah it says it might be missing a couple based on data it has access to. Regardless I think it paints the picture.

We played them twice that season. IU got throttled in one of the first games of the season, then returned the favor in the regionals.

We lost the opening game that season to them 87-72. The game listed we won by that score

This is what I’ve been telling my husband. If he were coach in this situation I would be strongly urging him to announce his retirement effective immediately. Why go through that again. Because if the next home game goes bad, it could get uglier than it was at the Illinois game.

My wife and kids have said the same thing. They would not allow me to put myself through that. Put the ego aside and let us still separate the player from the coach.

This part always cracks me up. We’re not even to Sunday or Monday yet and no one said anything was a done deal, just that there is a plan in place for an interim coach. So we start tearing people down because it’s not working out exactly how people want it to. Fun times.

Reading comprehension is a real struggle for some.

So, word I’ve gotten today from someone very close to the situation is “eerily quiet” today. I think the plans are finalized and ready. But Dolson and Co. are being very intentional about optics and want it to go down when the timing is right so that it doesn’t crate red flags in the media and coaching world. I’d say 30% chance a bad loss at NW does it, but a 60% chance blowout losses in Feb. to Purdue, Wiscy, Mich, Mich St. will be the need for the mid-season plan.
To be fair if they lose bad to michigan m st purdue and so forth it won't be mid season and they may as well ride it out till the end

We also played UCLA in the opening game that year and got blasted

We lost to them by 15 to open the season. The game and date on that list we won by that score. It was the year Knight had the bullwhip at practice and near the end of the blowout Cheaney was whipping RMK with a towel

It can’t happen soon enough

The funeral in Calbert’s family definitely puts things on hold.

A smart pr move would be to announce whatever the plan is while the spotlight is elsewhere. Say, in the midst of the college football national championship noise. The optics wouldn’t matter so much because the announcement would be lost in all the football hype
