Fire Coach Woodson Thread

I'm guessing they might have some idea but don't think they really know what is going on. Heck does anyone really know what is going on besides Scott

Woody knows.  He's a lousy coach but he's not that stupid that he can't see the writing on the wall.  And I feel pretty confident that his 'agent' QB hasn't been counseling him in the background on how to negotiate the end.

Yeah I’m not going down that road again telling people that IU is getting Stevens. I just get laughed at by everyone I say it to.

I still don’t think we will get Stevens to come here!

For PU fans, the worst case scenario for them is any sort of coaching change.  We are still a sleeping giant, or more accurately a giant poisoned by our own moron trustees and donors, but if we can hire a coach that gets us healthy again we can be pretty good.

Best case for PU is more Woody, but those days are rapidly coming to an end.

The way I see it, we did Purdue a huge favor in the 66-0 beatdown of their football team.  They fired their coach the next day.  If Woody survives until the Purdue game, they need to return the favor.  And yes, I cant believe it, but I would be ok with Purdue beating us down just this once.

Almost as bad as saying I hope UK wins another National Championship.

Not a big Doyel fan, but kinda wanted to read what he had to say. They must put him behind a paywall. Can read other Star stories, but not this column.

Yes I wanted to read it too but couldn’t access it!

Can only imagine how pissed Whitten is after hearing that. Like, “women are underlings??”

Give her five minutes alone with Tracy Stevens and any past talk would get erased. You could tell the president we have now is a different breed.

Yea.  I love the Scott and Pam combo.  So does Cig.

Pam has an important role to play in teaming up with Scott to get control of the bball program back from all the bad influences.  Now that Buckner (her boss) is a lame duck, she is probably more free to assert herself in this mess and clean it up.

Sure. I’m just pushing back on the idea that it is any sort of indication of interest. Both in actions and words, IU was told to take a hike.

The idea that Steven’s covets the job is just idle speculation and message board gossip.  It could be true. Hell, I hope it’s true. But nobody outside of us (diehard IU fans) looks at the situation and concludes Steven’s is just dying to get to IU.

(ok, I’m putt my realism hat back in the closet, putting back on my IU hat and impatiently waiting of more news of the return of the prodigal son :)

Yeah, this. There is zero, absolutely zero, reason to believe that Stevens would have any interest in coaching in college basketball in 2025. The only people who even delusionally bring this up are IU fans every time there's a coaching change (which unfortunately happens regularly around here).

Our fanbase is showing massive signs of trauma at this point...LOL

Move on, people.

I'm trying to figure out what would be the draw of Bloomington to May. Is IU really a better job than Michigan at this point? And he's already in Ann Arbor, he's well on his way to getting his program established. Why would he even remotely consider moving?

The way it's going to go down, IMO, is that May is going to use IU interest to get a nice bump in salary.

From hearing more about it I think Ferguson was the one who screwed it up last time. Hopefully, it was not on purpose but he supposedly said let's get the woman out of the room so we can negotiate not knowing that Tracy was Brad's wife and agent. That rubbed her the wrong away of course

So how exactly will we make it work this time if that geriatric misogynist is still around?

IU has more NIL, easier transfer rules, and more fan interest.

Is that that enough to get him to move?  I don't know.  UM is a great school and it's a good gig.  He may just stay there and keep building.

The fact that you said that was you opinion without any information is all that needs to be known.
