Any idea what the SEC or Big 12 or other conferences will have or is the BT the first out of the gate with this?

I have not heard what other conferences are doing if anything yet

Was just thinking the same.  20 Mil seams low based on the revenue it generates.

It's up to about $22M for all schools, increasing by a few percent each year.  This is a result of the class action lawsuit that is close to final, but not yet final.  Check out House vs. NCAA.

It will be up to the schools where the $22M goes -- FB, BB, etc.  In general, it's expected 75% or so will go to FB for most schools, since FB generates most of the revenue.

Keep in mind the $22M rev share is separate from NIL.  Schools like Minny will get a boost from the rev share, but other schools can still outbid them with NIL on top of the rev share.

That's what people say when they haven't been offered any jobs. He is still in town though, his daughter is play varsity as a freshman at Bloomington South

I know, but as someone who may or may not know him personally, I think there's some truth to it.

Minnesota should be able to keep players after this year due to the revenue sharing in the Big Ten. All teams will have 20 million to spend on basketball and football.
Well that would make things a lot harder on the king if other schools were on equal footing money wise. He only hot the roster he did due to his massive money advantage.

I'm aware of that. I'm just wondering if some of the assistants are significantly worse at their jobs than the others. I personally hope the assistant coaches and strength and conditioning coach follows Woodson out the door. It's funny how any question like the one I posted gets construed as some sort of defense of the Woodson.

I didn’t take it that way but I am sure the assistants that we currently have aren’t doing their jobs either, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!  If the Leader shows the way, others will follow.

Is that why I have to buy several channels to watch a freaking game.  :)

You are probably correct but I also think there is some truth to coaches not wanting him on staff. He has a big personality that has to fit the right staff.

For sure! I'm sure it's a little of both. Given the rumors of the reason for his departure here, assuming those are even marginally accurate, I would look at other options too

Cindy Simon Skjodt inherited all of her money and gets fleeced easily. Nothing like her brother who actually runs the operation. Glass took her for $40 million for the most expensive bathrooms since the Roman Empire.
Yep pretty much what I thought as well. If you earned it you don't normally just hand over 6 million yo a failing coach. Quinn set the trap and she fell right into it

But she got her name on the building which is all she cared about.

What if struggling Gophers men’s basketball hadn’t lost key players because of NIL?

Minnesota, 0-5 in the Big Ten, goes into Monday’s game at Maryland still trying to replace those gone because of better “name, image and likeness” opportunities elsewhere.

The Minnesota Star Tribune

They kept Garcia for half of what he could of gotten at other programs it says. I can't imagine anyone staying to play for Woodson for less money. He overpays just to get bodies

Reading this made me visualize Woody coaching at Minn next season. And it made me happy.
