Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Recommended Posts

If Kentucky actually ponied up and fired Cal, we would finally know if Jay Wright will ever coach again because I am guessing they would offer him a godfather deal and make him turn it down. 100 Million dollars can change a mind lol.

Even they know the score.  We aren't toxic.

We're nothing compared to them. Give UK our last 25 years and those fans would burn the campus to the ground.

Perspective. Kentucky fans are pissed they lost a close game to a far inferior opponent. We don't even wiff the ncaa and keep our talentless coach. We're not toxic were a blueblood demanding more. Cal system is just outdated. Imo was a crean who hit the jack pot but not a serious coach!

Funny cause they’re going through a streak kind of like Knight did at the end, except Cal isn’t Knight.

I had read somewhere UK was trying to revamp their NIL to make it the biggest.

Kentucky just gotta wait until after next season. Then all of the COVID years will be gone. Galloway and Leals class will be the last of them. The 23, 24, 25, 26 year olds will be gone. A few 23 year olds in grad transfers but it'll be back to 18-22 year olds.

So you think that the current age of college players beating Kensucky is 23-26, but by pulling back the age range one year, he will now be playing against 18-22 year olds?

Does. Not. Compute.

One more screenshot. They are every bit as toxic as IU fans. Note the similar comments. Replace Buckner, Woodson and Indiana with the Kentucky counterpart and it pretty much reads the same.

And to restate the obvious: Fire Woodson.

I've been having these weird scenarios play through in my head where I see UK and Cal part ways and he ends up at IU. I even texted my former college roommate about it this morning after we finished our gripe session from last night's game.

Will my daydream manifest?

The average age he's playing against is higher on average than it was in 2019 and prior. I don't think that's a secret. Oakland isn't exactly young(relative to college teams). The COVID year changed a lot.  It won't completely return to what it used to be because of NIL but it'll change a bit as even 5th years are less common as they are now. Along with 6th or 7th in some dudes cases.

I just listened to Tom Crean and that guy didn’t have one bad thing to say about the fans and mentioned the toxicity is definitely in the administration.  I genuinely loved Bloomington and honestly, I would take him over Mike Woodson as our coach any time.  I wonder what type of talent he could have had here if he had over $6 million dollars of NIL money to throw around

Fwiw, Query asked Crean what he thought about this little controversy:

Rumors, questions, and discussions followed Leal’s comment. Are the fans too toxic? Could that be the reason why they missed out recruits or players in the transfer portal? Former Indiana basketball coach Tom Crean joined Query & Company Wednesday afternoon and was asked that question.

“I don’t know if I believe it. I think the fans, from my experience, any booing or any negativity that I delt with, wasn’t anything close to some of the stuff I was dealing with back there with the administration. I wanted every one of our players, no matter how great it was or how rough it was, to understand the privilege it was to play there and it’s special because of those people. There is a passion for that place that very few have.” Crean stated.

“Indiana’s built on the grass roots of Indiana. Administratively or coaching wise, the moment that you forget it was built on the communities, counties, rural areas, you name it, that’s how Indiana basketball was built. You better never forget how Indiana basketball got built. Those people there, they love it. Some of them hate it, but they weren’t born to be Indiana fans anyways. The ones that love it, they love it. Can they take it over the top? Sure. There is NOTHING like it when that place (Assembly Hall) is rolling and those fans are bringing that intimidation factor to the opponent. To get to those days, you got to go through some of the hard days and the last thing you ever want to do is disrespect the people that make it what it is.”

Do you all think Indiana Admin and Coach have forgotten their base?

100%.  There seems to be this sense of entitlement that never was there before.

Cream was better but even he was not the answer. Trading a C level coach for a B- is better but still not good enough

I listened to Larry Nerd aka Cream Abdul jabar on Pat macafee and he was asked if he was going to take his new fame and see how much money he could get and he said no, while money is important, it’s really about proper fit and playing in a fun offense that allows him to shine. Despite being able to likely 5x his NIL he will not be portaling
