Fire Coach Woodson (or contemplate retirement) Thread

There is just no way they can do that to him or the fans.  This was awkward in December.  It was bad in January.  Are they really going to trot him out there for a month to get booed?  Is that the lasting image recruits/transfers will see of IU?  On second blush, that is par for IU.

Do you think they'd still boo him if they know he's retiring at the end of the year? It's that bad in AH this season?

Still trying to figure out if a coach has ever been fired before seasons end yet.

expect we won’t hear much from them for a while

Remember when you said he was going to be removed mid-season for poor performance because of prior precedent (which still to this date hasn’t happened)?

Yeah, me too lol

As I reminded yall yesterday, on senior day he said he’d be coach as long as he wanted to be, so he has a vested interest in saving face by retiring (“retiring”)

Yeah, it's a d@mn shame and one that pi$$es me off beyond words that he can come in here absolutely unqualified and collect $20M while driving the IU basketball program deeper down into the abyss and claim to have done his job... There has to be a special place in h*ll for guys like him, Buckner, Witman, Ferguson...

At this point I don't give a d@mn that he was a great player here 40 years ago... Mike Woodson, what have you done for us lately?

Get the h#ll out of town.

I didn’t say removed. I said fired and let to coach out the yer bringing our total to 4/6 coaches terminated before the end of the season…or you know: the thing you say never happens. lol..indeed

He deserves every boo he gets at this point if he is too arrogant to step down.

100% yes

There would be no need to boo him if we know he will be gone after the season. I know I am in the minority but I don't a problem if him finishing the year out. Maybe I still have a soft spot for him because I loved him as a player. Also it doesn't hinder us hiring a new coach if he finishes the year. Since I don't buy the Steven's talk the other candidates are still working their current job

Except he wasn’t “terminated” and is still calling the shots. IU will NEVER fire a coach mid-season and remove him in the middle of the year which you said was common place. Has literally never happened nor will it.
