The whole flagrant 1 and flagrant 2 calls I mean what even constitutes a flagrant if refs are going to toss people for things that don't even constitute a flagrant 2.

I can’t stand the constant intentional, but not called intentional, fouling at the end of tight games.  If a defender fouls before the ball is inbounded or if the foul is on the other side of the half court line (ie any foul 47+ feet away), in the last two minutes, the offense should get 2 free throws and the ball. 
Should maybe even look at making 2 plus the ball outside of something like 25-30 feet from the basket.

Kind of minor gripes on college bball, but

1) the possession arrow is silly -- no reason they can't do jump balls 

2) NBA and women's bball have quarters but men's bball insists on halves. Why do we need 2 halves in men's bball, just match what the NBA and women's bball do and go to quarters.

Kind of an interesting factoid -- men's bball DID switch to quarters in 1951, but then switched back in 1954 -- the idea is that longer halves mean less stoppages of play and more scoring -- but come on, anyone believe college ball isn't riddled with stoppages, and hello, NBA scoring in quarters vs. college scoring in halves??

And, uh, follow the money, here's a quote:

As a taxpayer and Indiana Alum, I'd like to know how and why we think hiring two straight athletic directors with no previous experience as division 1 (or even D2) ADs is wise, good management, good stewardship, or defensible when other, more qualified candidates were available.

And, in my opinion, this kind of thinking/failure is a root cause issue for IU's now multi-decade athletic mis-management problems, and plays a direct part in our problems and failures when ADs routinely make or are involved in multi-million dollar decisions that spend or waste at least some public funds.

IU has a long standing history of making blunder after blunder in the hiring and firing portion of athletics.

I would also like to know exactly how we ended up hiring Mike Woodson in this last hiring approach. (Note: I like Woodson, he's a beloved former player and IU legend. I just don't understand at all how we ended up hiring him out ofwhat should have been a pursuit to find the best possible candidate. I.e., another in a long string of terrible hiring mistakes , IMO.)

IMO, if you want to know why IU is still lost and struggling after so long, it's because we have made many, many terrible hiring/firing decisions...bad AD hires, bad coach hires, keeping coaches too long, and possibly a few bad president hires too. (Many of these mistakes were made by inexperienced or unqualified people who themselves should never have been hired).

We need PROVEN competence and experience from the president down. If you hire unproven amateurs you're likely to get sub-par results. Successful organization simply do not operate like this.

My worry is we start losing our Montverde Academy recruiting steam. Without that pipeline Woody would be up $hit creek in a hurry. I’m not ready to say fire him, but I’m concerned about the future of IU basketball if I am to judge this teams current state!

Personally, I could yell about college basketball all day. Basketball in general really. Plenty of changes I'd love to see from IU to the entire college game in general.

As for IU... Lordy does the program need a makeover. Stuck in the past. I get it... "Tradition" and blah blah blah. I've heard and I don't care. Our tradition right now is sucking. And guess what? Will probably continue that way because the peeps in charge don't know what they are doing. They keep trying to appease 65 year olds rather than 16-45 year olds who want to watch and attend IU. We want an exciting brand of basketball, we instead get Woodson. We want great apparel, we instead stick with Adidas. We want new looks, we just continue the same ole same ole. A ton has to change in the program. From jerseys, court, Assembly Hall renovations, shoe deals, media content, coaching, training... It's literally every aspect of the program. Everything needs an overhaul. We have just spent years trying to polish a turd.
