My related hot take on this is the candy striped pants. If you are anyone other than a current player on the team on gameday, you look dumb wearing the pants.

I have never owned a pair. I tend to agree with this.

Glad you said it and not me. One caveat, if you're under the age of 12 I think it's acceptable on game day. Saw a ton of them walking around MSG in November and thought it was cringeworthy.

You haven't lived until you see a dozen 50+ year old fat guys walking around in their stiped pants.  A site you can't unsee.  :)

Ehh... but jeans to a sporting event is a no-go for me.

I'll rock my candy stripes well before that. But I just wear my under armour sweat pant/leggings basically every where now. Not fleece ones, those get the fellas sweating wayyyy too much.

Yes, you can get jerseys. And a few shirts and shorts. There isn't much from Adidas themselves.

I have on an Adidas fleece, t-shirt, and sweatpants today. That all says IU and Adidas on them. With IU Adidas shoes. So not sure what you can't get

I'm sure he has his personal workout coach, like every other player on the team has. He has played better when he has learned to stay out of foul trouble. We are also running more things for him. I don't think he is only using his private coach

That's good to know.

Ok, this is a total rumor, gossip, whatever you want to call it.

It has been spotted in Cook Hall that Mac has hired a private coach and has started excelling since.

Any truth, knowledge, or validity on this?

If so, that is extremely piss poor from the ENTIRE coaching staff.

I think most top prospects have personal coaches but that is for the off season. Maybe he came up to see MM and they went to Cook Hall to workout.

I Also remember Tom Brady having his personal trainer at the team facility all the time. I think the team finally put a stop to that

And 40+ of the 50+ will combine it with a poorly fitting jersey. It could serve as a haunted house, really.

Man that's awesome. We are very proud of you for doing so. I have two pairs of candy stripes, a hat, I think a shirt and a pair of shorts I got at the surplus store.

Said it before and saying it again. They do give us leverage in recruiting. This is a fact. We have had Adidas NIL athletes. JHS, TJD. This is another things we can pitch. This is because outside of Kansas, we are Adidas best basketball brand. Mgbako was down to 3 Adidas schools. Not coincidence. Not sure exactly what that payout was as CAA was involved as well.

go to Nike… we drop way down the list and are an after thought.

You are mixing your general love of Nike product and the actual realities of what is best for the team. No question it is Adidas in current state.

FYI - if you saw how much I spend on Nike yearly for myself and my family, it would probably make you sick. I have very little Adidas. This isn’t about fashion and personal preference.

Nike by just existing gives more leverage in recruiting. That isn't a secret. Is Adidas catching up? Maybe. Does Adidas really care about Indiana? Nope.

Regardless of who our apparel contract is with, there is no reason to buy anything with that brand on it. Only IU gear I own across the board is from:

https://www.homefieldapparel.com/collections/indiana-university-iu-hoosiers-store

with the exception of one shirt from this brand:

https://www.originalretrobrand.com/collections/indiana-hoosiers

If I lived in or near Bloomington, I'd give the HoosierA1vintage kid my business as well.

I'll throw in a vouch for https://19nine.com . I think they're out of Evansville? Not a huge selection, but some really cool stuff. I've purchased from them before and it's good quality.

Edit: I hadn't been on their site in a while. The selection is approaching huge.
