Dude, I'm "woke" AF, and I was one of the first dudes who grabbed a torch and pitchfork at the hiring of Tom Allen back at the beginning.  When you never had success, I'd rather have an ******* who delivers results than a nice guy shouting buzzwords (especially one who, based on what I've seen in conjecture, probably isn't as nice as he seems) because Bill Lynch drove me to the brink of insanity.

3rd and 10 on the 50.. HB draw... you don't miss it? LOL

LEO = $27,300,000

several really nice perks….

and a Fred Glass Evergreen provision added in 2019:  that every year the Hoosiers make a bowl a year will be added to the end of Allen’s contract.  Fred Glass continued his self genius statement by stating “that’s frankly something T.A’s representative didn’t even ask for.  That’s something I wanted.  I wanted to have that commitment out there again.  An institutional commitment and not just an athletic department commitment.”

Is the reason his reps didn't ask because they didn't think someone would actually do that?

Dolson was already AD when that contract was made. Can't blame Glass for this one.

Glass gave him the evergreen provision referenced in the post you quoted though. He set the groundwork for Dolson’s most recent extension, who wasn’t hired as AD until 2020.

Starved for football success… things prematurely snowballed overboard contractually.

They were so worried he was going to go to a bigger and better job. Instead, the real people behind the success went elsewhere.

I remember when people on here were saying that we are now a football school? Can you imagine if he had left and DeBoer took over?

I kind of get the reasoning.  Big success and even the players were gushing about LEO and TA.  That one TV game where players were running to the reporter interviewing TA and telling everyone to come play for this man.  It all looked so promising it is simply amazing that it crumbled so quickly.  Still think TA is a good DC and if he had made reasonable personal decisions it might be better

No, seriously, the horse has been dead for a long time.

You can stop.

Why couldn't we live in that timeline?

My bad. I thought that was added in as part of the extension which was Dolson's work f-up.

Nobody in cfb benefited from the Covid year more than TA.

How's he gonna do all that, ensure quality, and fix the water main to Memorial Stadium? There's only 24 hours in a day.

I know people think it is, but coaching football is not rocket science.
