Chris Ledlum - Harvard Transfer to Tennessee -- Wait, Make That St. John's

Recommended Posts

I think Ledlum is a nice player but I definitely don’t think he was uniquely suited to next year’s roster at IU. Reasonable minds disagree, but I’m more inclined to buy @stuhoo’s leadership argument than a skill/fit one.

There are other fish in the sea. IU has a lot to offer (more than UT imho).

We have a long way to go to being a tournament team. Very little experience and losing a ton of scoring from last year’s team. We still need two more guys that can hoop!

That or Ware and XJ need to be the best duo in basketball

Well according to Lunardi, he thinks we are a tournament team.

I think we need more ball handlers than wings. Don’t like when the staff misses their target but now that their plan did not work they can work on mine.  Last year we had 2 pg’s and when X went down we saw that was not enough.

desperately need better 3 pt shooting as well. I suppose a wing could have done that prefer we focus on ball handling and shooting guard.  I will even let the staff say this was their plan all along.

No.  He just wasn't the second coming.  And as soon as he started to extend things, we needed to move on.

We should have moved on several weeks ago!  We should have focused harder on Knecht

Damn decision came soon and good news on the horizon. Ledlum won't be playing in the original candy stripes.

I can't tell if you're being sassy or serious.  Will you ask your source for percentages of Instagram follower fanbases?  That should clear this up.

Unfortunately, he will be playing in the originals (or at least ones that originated before ours did)

I don't like that so I'm calling fake news. He won't be playing in the original cool candy stripes. Who even likes orange candy stripes? It doesn't make sense

Not sure where I saw this at but in the portal world if you don't get a commit right away after a visit that's not a good thing. Especially when that recruit is visiting other schools.

That wouldn't be in their wheelhouse. When have I ever been sassy?

Agree on Knecht and Ryan.  Disagree on nothing else interesting if your bar for interesting is Cormac Ryan.

Okay, Matthew Cleveland from FSU is interesting but that's about it.  I watched some video on Gurrier but eh.

Still need to add scoring and aside from Knecht or Ryan it isn't really out there right now.  We weren't going to get everything we need from the portal, we need development from players we have already as well, but we need more from the portal than the 2 bigs we've gotten.

There are still guys out there that interest me....and certainly quite a few that I value over Ryan.  That said, I don't know how much contact IU has made with them.  Personally, I like Guerrier.  I like Clevland.  Ryan IMO is just okay.  Jaylon Tyson of Texas Tech I might take over all three of them.  If people liked Ledlum, David Jones is basically the same type of player.   Arterio Morris is certainly worth a look.  Noah Reynolds.

But obviously now the staff is going to have to pick up steam with some.

Rabby said b1g style of play was a big factor that TN led with.

Perhaps. But that doesn't explain why Battle chose Ohio State.  It seems what Woodson and the staff were selling Ledlum and Battle just didn't work.  Maybe with Reneau, Ware and Sparks, Ledlum saw the front court too crowded already and he knows in his heart of hearts that he's not really a perimeter player.  But whatever they are projecting for the 3 isn't convincing to players like Ledlum and Battle.  IU may have to reconstruct their approach for that position.

Or Battle liked that Ohio State was sending a 3 (Sensabaugh) to the NBA.  It's not a secret why Indiana is more attractive to bigs than it is to wings right now.
