I expect them to press and trap the hell out of both JHS and TG. I expect them knock down open 3's because they'll get them. I also expect JHS and TG to struggle stopping Young's straight line drives. Don't like this match up at all. Need them to be ice cold from the field so they can't set up their press. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk I believe we lost the first matchup because we turned it over and fouled them over and over again (not that we actually fouled them but we were called for the fouls). I don't think it's a bad matchup and feel there are plenty of areas we could exploit. TJD getting their bigs in foul trouble would be one. We do need to defend the 3 and stop straight line drives which has been a weakness of ours for most of the year. I believe we rebounded well against them the first time too. J34 1 Quote

They did shoot 17 more free throws than we did. Warranted or not. And we didn't handle their press well. We should be better at that also. Whoozhers 1 Quote

IUFootballHappyHappyJoyJoy Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 Man, I just hate that it's going to be a few years before the tournament is back in Indy. Chicago this year, then Minneapolis, and you just know they're heading to Los Angeles for a spell. Banksyrules 1 Quote

HoosierFan1994 Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 Key for me is to not let them get comfortable. Maryland was 1-9 in B1G play away from home. I know it's a neutral site game but still. Also, didn't Jalen play his worst game as a Hoosier that night? I've neer been a big Big Ten Tournament guy because we've always been awful in it. However, why can't IU win this just once? This year I will be upset if they can't get to Sunday..However, I know conferece tournament success means nothing for NCAA tournament success. In 2012 and 2016 IU lost on Friday and made the Sweet 16. For me, I'd like to win this to get momentum back going. IU has had a tough schedule since February. Feels like we've won one and lost one..which is understandable with the schedule. It would be nice to win three games in a row going into the NCAA Tournament. Quote

rcbowla Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 Boy you woke up full of rainbows and sunshine. But I understand what your saying. If you remember that JHS had his worst game against them, and if he would have just had a normal game we win. I believe we were without Race too. Not trying to be negative and I'll be hoping like hell I'm wrong. It's just the feeling I have about it is all.Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk Chris007 1 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 We should probably Thrash a Maryland team with a brand new coach and a team put together with band-aids and bubble gum but that's not the case unfortunately. Maryland has had a nearly equal year to IU. Game feels about like a coin flip. We are probably slight favorites. I don't think Willard is a good coach, but I know Willard is a good recruiter (somehow). I worry he might DMV this program into a contender in the years to come. We might as well beat them today.
