Can you please make something up about a crazed, screaming Illini lunatic (maybe your wife?) who apologized and ended up rooting for IU?

*shhhh... let's pretend we never had this post so that your response can seem really true*

Yeah!  And maybe something about the 'great' food in the Champaign-Urbana metro area.  The best being a Rally's or White Castle knock off... Probably the reason why their center was not feeling well.  Insert gif of the Exorcist, well, you know.

Again, Trayce absolutely controlled this game from first TO on.  His best overall game as a Hoosier IMO.  Carried.

They didn't double him automatically which was nuts.  Izzo will have a better gameplan but the home court will be amped for MSU.

I hope we can find ways to win when TJD faces doubles.  #figureitout

Izzo didn’t really double Edey that much in their game with them.    It will be interesting to see if he will with TJD

omg forgot to tell you guys a story!!!!!!!

This one guy that was body painted head to toe to look like The Chief tried chest bumping my wife so I grabbed him by the neck and threw him down the stairs. She turned and looked at me and said "my hero!" and we embraced. Chief guy comes back up the stairs, stops at our seats, and stares at me for a good 15 seconds before offering a handshake. As we shake hands, he pulls me in close and says "TJD is my favorite player" and out of nowhere pulls out 2 tubs of body paint, one crimson one cream. We then candy striped him top to bottom and drank warm beers together, singing This Is Indiana until they cut us off.

You mean 10-10?    9-11 would get them in with the road win against Xavier and home against North Carolina if I was a betting man.   Just have to take care of Minny on the road and at minimum a 9-11 conference record should get them in(minimum meaning not what I would want or you would want just giving the minimum requirement.

Whatever .500 is anymore in the Big Ten lol.

Yep. Notably they didn’t even double on the last play leading to their demise. In some fairness to Izzo Edey didn’t shoot a real high percentage, but Purdue was happy to feed him with it finally paying off.

Work shutting down because we're slow is bad. But having a game you can come home crack a cold beer and love rewatching is awesome. Also awesome is the iu sucks chant to start the game knowing we beat their @$$ in the end.

The Jordan Geronimo redemption arc continues! Outside of dribbling a few times (always bad) that kid has been locked in the last few games. I was as down on him as anyone, but he’s telling me to shove it and I couldn’t be happier.

If he keeps his energy level high, his athleticism will allow his contributions to out weigh his brain farts.

There’s no way to measure this, but I personally don’t think it’s a coincidence he finally stepped into a couple nice jumpers last night (from the limited parts of the game I saw). He’s just an overall better player when he’s flying around the court.

Feel like there's a pretty decent chance here to get a 6 game winning streak heading into PU game. One game at a time especially with this group but in paper it seems very doable.

Yep.  Time for a run.

Walking out of there was magical. They were all just SO sad and like I said, I'm not the guy to go pick a fight so I just soaked it all in as we walked to the car. Their arena post-renovation still sucks, by the way. Concourses are about 10 feet wide and grey. It feels like you're walking through a dungeon. If you aren't in the suites or the box seats, you're probably going to get a better fan experience at your local high school game. The beer was warm too.

Some things never change. Saw a game there against Michigan in ‘90 or ‘91. The atmosphere was the worst and it was so drab that it made a good game not that fun. Though gonna go out on a limb and guess last night was ok fun.

Correct, Izzo didn't double Edey hardly at all.  I remember him doing it once and Loyer knocked down a three.  If Izzo does double, our shooters are going to have to hit shots.

MSU did keep Purdue's score down pretty well, but it was a curious strategy not to double Edey.  He ended up taking exactly half of their shots.  Hard to win a game when your post player is outscored by 32 and outboarded by 9.

Particularly notable that he didn’t double Edey in the contexts of IU/PU. In some respects I think it makes more sense to double Edey than TJD, given that Trayce is a better passer AND IU has been a better 3Pt shooting team this year.
