I hate that we reside in the same state as Purdue and their fans get to enjoy teams that win a ton of games every year while we get this garbage. Yeah, they've had embarrassing losses in March, but they never have to think about their roster or wonder if they'll be good enough. They actually have a coaching staff that takes care of everything, from player development, to addressing weaknesses, to proper scheduling, everything we complain about. This program sucks and I hate it.

Pretty much sums it up. Purdue has it rolling.

FIRE HIM
This is embarrassing

I’m ready whenever. Kinda have been for a bit. Was hoping he’d put together one NBA type talented roster to roll with. But I don’t think it’s ever gonna happen. He’s searching now. Probably internally losing some confidence. He doesn’t really have an identity.

Another coach I actually really like and want it to work, but Crean had his Zeller years, and Woody had his TJD years. I’m afraid its just a matter of time. Heat is gonna be on him and Dolsen when we miss the tourney.

He gets next year to rebuild a monster. Let’s see what he does. The staff likes our guards and wanted Ledlum when they could have gotten Battle tells me the way they want to play. Get a bunch of big guys, who don’t really want to even rebound.

I wasn’t a Dusty May guy when the last search was conducted, but I could be talked into him after what he did last season.

Woodson wouldn’t have this job if he didn’t play at Indiana. And frankly, Indiana making the dance the last two years wasn’t all that impressive. The made the play-in round Woodson’s first year with Archie‘s guys and last year was blown out to a solid Miami team.

Im extremely disappointed in the lack of GOOD transfer portal kids. There has to be a reason(s) why kids are not committing via the portal.

Ok, we can give him next year. But we’ll lose Mbako, Ware and Reneau to the NBA and X and Gallo to graduation. He’s got Liam coming in next year. Hope Liam can play 4 or 5 positions at the same time.

Queen is just toying with us. He ain’t coming.

Just don’t see anything positive on the horizon.

Reneau may not go to the NBA but he could transfer if this season is a dumpster fire. The other two will leave

Making the tournament should be a bare minimum expectation, it's not much of an accomplishment with 68 teams. You made a 68 team field, want a cookie?

Good thing we have guard reinforcements coming....oh wait, we have 1 commit and the guard plan was Fland or pray for the portal.

I am really not sure where we go from here. Woodsons IU career is basically relying on pulling guard talent out of the portal this spring but he only focuses on one or two guys. He’s going to have to thread the needle to give the program a chance to not die.

I actually agree but I don’t see Woody leaving before next season, so I might as well hope for a miracle. I have no reason to think the staff will do anything special, but their backs will be against the wall.

He will probably have to get at least two to three guards in the portal who can play right away. Will not be an easy task at all especially if we miss the tourney. I don't see a plan really just spring scrambling for bodies.

I’m pretty happy with Ware and Walker. The glaring issue is that we didn’t get a couple of guards.

Lol, no ****. Our transfers have been some of our better players. The problem has been with the foundation and lack of one more G portal player.

woodson’s lucky he has a solid core if Mgbako and Reneau stay.

Galloway

Cupps

McNeely

Mgbako

Reneau

The rest of the team needs a major lift. Starting with trying to find guys to push Gallo and Cupps closer to role players then actual starters. Newton should be back next year but the long time off probably doesn’t help him next year. Right now if you’re not in the top 7 man rotation on this IU team you probably aren’t going to be sticking around much longer. This IU team needs atleast 2/3 guards next year. 1 wing player that’s more developed than Banks. 1 Big if they don’t get Queen.

I remember how much I started to despise Tom Crean for throwing his players under the bus after tough losses…. I see a few parallels between Crean and Woody.

-Both were allergic to accountability. Woody’s press conference tonight nearly makes me want to find a new team and coach to support.

-Both had poorly constructed rosters well into their tenure

-Both had absolutely mind boggling substitution patterns and were EXTREMELY stubborn to change.

-Both played way too many players in the rotation.

-Both had teams that struggled to guard the perimeter.

I’ll scream it from the mountaintop now and until the end of time….. It doesn’t take winning coaches 3-4 years to compete for conference championships…. Let alone getting worse by year 3 and 4. Next year is shaping up to be worse.

We’ve all seen this exact same scenario play out over and over and over again. It’s staring us right in the face….again. Woody is not going to win here. God love him but it’s not going to happen.

The original post said we didn’t get any GOOD transfers. You didn’t catch my sarcasm when I replied  that I am  “pretty happy “with Walker and Ware.

Unfortunately I'll believe they're serious about getting basketball right when they show it, if it's not too late to fix this mess. They hired a 60 year old that hadn't been a HC in almost 10 years, because he played at IU over 40 years ago. Maybe the next coach will be a 50 year old that hasn't coached in 5 years.

I'd forget May, he'll probably get hired somewhere else because we've shown we won't move on when we should. And with Beard's issues IU wouldn't even consider him.

The hire is still baffling to me but but it's iu so I guess it's no suprise. Somebody will move on May after this year but we all know it won't be IU.
