I was a kid when Davis was our coach but I remember asking my dad why Indiana was going to part ways with him. They just went to the tournament and had some momentum. Sampson didn't bring in all those kids he won with either. It was Mike Davis. I felt IU should've gave him another few years.

Uh…because Knight was finally run out for “just going to the tournament.”

I feel old reading this. Bottom line is that Davis found his level as a low major coach. He was in no way shape or form ready to be IU’s coach.

It’s crazy that Woody isn’t listening to Matta or literally any of his three assistants. And not crazy in the sense that I don’t believe it, but rather crazy in that it’s insane he’s doing it. His in-game decisions are that of a stubborn coach, I guess he’s stubborn off the court as well. Dude has never been a college coach before and he’s ignoring the guys with the college experience? Smh.

I said he was stubborn earlier, it didn’t go well, but the thing is, he is. I believe he’s capable of growing the program back, but the continuing stubbornness is a problem

Can you elaborate?

Offering Colvin before Booker which probably turned out to be fine.  And said some things about Indiana kids joking that people took the wrong way.   Neither big deals in my opinion

No one believes that. Just ask anyone. You are never a glass half full guy. You need drama. I’ve had at least 5 people DM saying that about you and others. It’s true

It’s hard to be a glass half full guy when it comes to this program. I was a junior at IU the last time we went to the tournament. I’ve graduated college, took a gap year, and graduated law school since then. It feels like a lifetime ago. My sister’s IU class never saw IU make the tournament. Never saw IU beat Purdue. Same with the class of 2021. The class of 2022 got to see IU beat Purdue at least, but they probably won’t see IU make the tournament either.

Even the good moments are hard to enjoy because the collapse seems inevitable. Year after year it’s happened. And this year is, unfortunately, no different.

What did Eddie do?

I forget exactly, maybe Chris can help with my memory.

But didn’t he offer a non D1 kid that Archie didn’t approve and the kid was excited but had to pull the offer? Something along those lines.

Yes you are correct and Mike used to say crazy stuff. “Help is on the way” things like that. But he knew matchups and how to get your best player shots. Plus he just wanted to win. He would play whoever gave him a chance white or black

This is decidedly NOT how I’d describe the Bracy Wright experience.

My 5 year old daughter wasn’t conceived the last time we were in the tourney.  Yeah the glass is empty till something changes

Despite my criticism of Woody, I really would like to see us dancing this year.

Winning the next three is critical. I don’t see us winning at Purdue LOL. Now it’s going to be a 2 game victory in the big tourney as well.

Ouch

Reminds me of when Crean took an upper decker in Kyrie Irvings house.

I hate to be negative. For the record, I hated Crean and hated Archie, but actually am patient with Woody and think he'll turn it around....

Having said that... This program has been pretty dysfunctional for around 20 years now. I keep preaching we need a total brand rebuild. Here's to hoping something positive happens.

Can’t get a 8 million dollar coach?

Lol. No problem. Get a 4 million dollar coach and find a way to nil funnel the other 4 million to get bonafide players. Bet we start winning games quickly.

Half serious. But in reality, I’d love if we had a great basketball coach. I see other teams running actions, forcing switches, shooting open 3’s and i fawn with jealousy.

You have coaches so that you can put your players in the best position to succeed, and Woodson hasn’t been doing that. We’ve lost 10 games this year. How many times have we lost because we played a superior team that just throughly beat us? And how many times did we lose because we didn’t show up for 40 minutes? Syracuse, both Wisconsin games, PSU, Northwestern, and OSU all easily could’ve been wins. We just choked them away. Does it not fall on the coach when the team plays with inconsistent effort and routinely fails to execute in crunch time?

I’ll give you lack of effort and the branch is a good motivator, but who you going to put in if someone’s dogging it?

As for execution, that’s on the player.  You either have it or you don’t.  We don’t right now.

This is always my feelings. I always want Indiana to succeed. I like Woodson, the man. Heck, I didn’t mind Archie, the person, but the players had enough.

I’m not rooting for the tank train, because we are 2 years away from that. We might as well get some wins, but everything on the court besides defensive intensity is just plain awful. Blame players, coaches, whoever….. all of them. Unfortunately, the reality is Woodson is who he is. Gotta hope for more talented kids and for teams to play poorly against us….

This is when I turned it off. If they don't care why should we as fans? It's not cheap to attend a game at Assembly Hall....again, this is what losing programs do. Imagine if a player did that with Knight, Keady, Izzo, Coach K....I've also said this before. Trayce is our Dak Prescott (I'm a Cowboys fan). He dominates against weaker competition but struggles against even matchups. Good luck to him in the future but I don't see him having a long NBA career unless he improves.

Yeah It is definitely not cheap, I went 5 times and had tix to the cancelled game. I got my hopes up some before Christmas, but still had some reservations with the teams outlook. I just don’t see any hope of the post season when your “star” all American this late in the season with the season on the line still chooses not to show up for games and then give a goofy as smile while blanking freebies. I know opposing defenses focus on him but the frequency at which he misses bunnies and still cannot shoot a jump shot or a contested bunny with his non dominate hand drives me nuts. This roster is a bunch of pieces thrown together with no core. TJD cannot be the focal point of a team, yes he is talented but he is so one dimensional, it’s so easy to plan for him. Love Race but he is a backup 4 on a good team or a starting 4 with a group of dependable shooters. X, Kopp, Stewart, and  Durr would all be bench players on good teams. Our underclassman are thrust into a contribute now role that none of them are ready for. Leal, Bates, Gallo, Lander, Geronimo need time as backups to learn. Most of them are the quintessential 4 year players that don’t contribute a ton till late junior or senior years. Idk what next season will bring but man it is getting harder and harder to watch this season. I love IU basketball but man just close out a game!
