Duncomb must show absolutely nothing in practice -- or Woody just has no faith in him whatsoever. I get that people claim he's not a B1G-caliber player -- although it seems difficult to determine given the sample size. But jeez, we were down to seven scholarship players last night -- he was one -- and he didn't even come close to sniffing the court. A walk-on played before he did!

Hell, even Priller saw some run when times got desperate, and you don't get much more desperate than last night. I just thought giving him a couple 3-4 minute spurts to spell Race and/or Trace woulda made a little sense.

He is a project. Sometimes throwing a guy like that in with the wolves does more harm than good.

"Thought the guys that played, played extremely well. Unfortunately their teammates let them down". Love, love, love that response from Woody

We were shorthanded and...

I can't excuse it, though.  We had to beat Northwestern.  The next three games are against teams in the Top 25, and given Indiana's historical failures in the Big Ten Tournament, we really need to make a case during conference play.  I really don't want to go to the Not Invited Tournament.

This is not your parents Northwestern team. They have a couple of 4* players (Nance and some other) and a handful of 3* players too! It was a Big 1.o game on the road so that's difficult. We'll get them in the BTT when we have all of our knucklehead players! We're going dancing in the big one this season, no need to worry.

Man, I was hoping this place was better this morning but it's not. Negative posters just dominate the threads. So proud of the guys who played their a$$ off last night. Man, that had to be tough finding out at the morning shootaround you were rolling with mainly 6 guys.

So proud of Woody for creating the culture that is needed moving forward and has been missing for a long time. Funny how people would say why don't Archie bench Justin Smith or Devonte Green? Mike Woodson does it and it's why is he costing us a game. Hopefully, it's not a black/white thing and just a don't know much about basketball thing.

Anyway, I was really surprised by how much support some posters get for their takes. They show up in droves when IU loses. When Fife told me about IU fans I laughed, but now I see what he is talking about. They complain we lost, then they say why didn't we play Logan. Always want it both ways. Some people are never happy and don't want others happy. Back to IU, don't care what happens the rest of the season proud of how this was handled.

I also don't think TJD is all-Big Ten, he just can't dominate at this level. 4-13 shooting? Terrible free throws, just disappointed in his progression, probably Woodson's fault. Anyway till next time BTB. Peace out

This is my biggest issue. One poster called me out for "backing another loser coach". Like why would I not support the coach of Indiana University basketball? Am I supposed to root against him? It's not like he is cheating or a scumbag.

I obviously see the flaws and issues with the team and program. But am I supposed to just hate everything about it because it isn't where I want it to be?

Not me. But yes, we can all agree this program needs to get better. GO IU.

Didn't watch the 2nd half past the 16:00 mark because I knew we were going to run out of gas. Proud of the effort of the guys who did play.

I agree with the benching, we can't have the inmates run the asylum.

Honestly I'm glad Woodson isn't afraid to send a message and risk losing a game while doing so.

I'd be happy to learn he made them all find their own ride back to Bloomington if they want to go off and do their own thing the night before a game.

I didn't mean to sound so negative last night, I am generally fairly positive. Last night sent me over the edge a little. I was already frustrated with TJD, see beginning of the thread, then came the stupidity of the 5, and then TJD has another one of those games. In fact, I am still fairly angry. Teams have now figured out how to take TJD out of the game. Pack the post and stand your ground, he will look at the 2-3 open players and just go up against 2-5 defenders. I don't understand it, it frustrates the crap out of me. Yeah, I know guys are not hitting 3s all that great, but the few times that the ball came out of the post last night when the shooter was square to the basket, they hit it. There are serious fundamental issues going on with this team. Each of Leal and Kopps missed 3s they were not square to the basket, turning as they caught the ball and moving into a shooting motion. I am at a loss, and the 5 guys was the icing on the cake.

TJD has definitely frustrated me too. If you were being too negative then I missed it, but you're not like that every game.

Last night was one of the most disappointing losses I've ever witnessed because it had nothing to do with basketball. I have zero doubts we win that game with ease of those 5 play but they didn't care enough about the team to keep it together. That's hurtful to their teammates, coaches, and the fans. Woody had no choice but to suspend them hopefully this pays off down the line but I really hope he doesn't make it a multi game thing because at that point the season is over.

Being old school (and just old as well) I really appreciate Woody's decision. Actions have consequences in life, not just basketball.

What really got my attention was Woody's presser at the end when he said that if guys don't want to be proud of the uniform and the school on, and off, the court then they "need to go". I don't think Woody is messing around, and playing head games. I think he's brutally honest and communicates his expectations.

So proud of the guys who played their butts off.  Hope Woody makes the "Fab 5" earn their way back to the rotation, and starting positions are not automatically given.

I’m just not gonna get that worked up in Woodys first season. This roster is flawed. Guys act CMW is hiding some gem on the bench and it just isn’t there.

Trayce is what he is. Talented, plays hard, effective, but limited and not expanding his game.

Agreed, but he's also the designated "5" on the team. And the sets are run for him to play in the lane.

I'm not sure he's capable of playing a stretch 4, because we haven't seen his "outside" game (if he has one). It would be interesting to see Race @ the 5, but too late in the season for that I think.

I also think there's better than a 50/50 chance that we see TJD back at IU next year.
