For Durr and Stewart, this was suspension #2 (although Durr wasn't officially suspended, the reality was that he was).  Lander had finally been given an opportunity to prove himself.  I'm not real high on guys that get a second chance and waste it.

One of Two things are going to happen from this.  Those that where suspended are going to grow some balls, man up, and play the rest of the season like their lives depend on it.  If so, we finish very strong.  OR, they’ll pout and look at the transfer portal as a way out and they’ll let the rest of the team down.  
 

And frankly, None of them are good enough to be a problem child.

I could understand both ways:

Making just the 5 run, because they're the ones who screwed up. 
Making the entire team run, because for 1) it's a team; for 2) the other 12 or so (particularly Race and Trayce -- the captains) should've made sure the 5 miscreants stayed in line, especially while facing such a critical game.

Of course, which is why I said they need to get to proving it right then and there. And to be clear, I don't think anybody needs to address anything publicly. But within the locker room I would think something needs to be said. It's certainly admirable for their actions to speak louder than their words, but it sure would seem weird to me if I was one of the guys who played last night to not hear any acknowledgement of and apology for screwing up from those 5 teammates. And if I were one of the 5, I'd want to vocally own it and apologize (though a key part of my message would be to make it known that my actions will be speaking louder than these words). Maybe that's just me.

Again, just my opinion, I don't think I feel sorry for a coach, making north of $250k or GAs that want to progress to that level having to discipline players at 4-5 AM. Something I learned, in a much different line of work, is if you set expectations and hold them accountable early there is a lot less babysitting needed later. You might even be able to get a little more e and e out of them if you're doing that too.

Aren't Bates' parents ex-military? I know one or both or teachers of some sort now, but I thought they were ex military at one point in time.

If so...that makes Bates' behavior even more strange to me. He grew up in a disciplined family.

But then again, maybe he's a wild child like a preacher's daughter. Doesn't come across that way publicly, but you never know.

Hope this is a very good learning experience for all of them. Just hope Woody doesn't blink, and give PS & X their starting jobs back automatically.

Wooooo boy....I don't know about this one. What time could they realistically have gotten home? 2am Bloomington time? If coach had the 6 guys who played last night up at 4-5am running stairs at assembly, he better lift the suspensions b/c we likely have 3-4 more injuries now.

Not a 100% of the time, but more often than not. Parts of my family were in the military, and it's obvious from the behavior of their kids who was, and who wasn't military.

But even so....Bates has always come across as a level headed kid, with his act together. Did he just get caught up in the moment, or is it a pattern. We'll never know probably. I just was more surprised by him being one of the Fab 5.

I would say the entire team, but the 5 have to run extra with the rest watching them until they are finished.  What better way to have each other start holding each other accountable than to have the entire participate?
