Indiana vs Undue Purversity, Thursday, 7:00 pm

Recommended Posts

First during my marriage @$$ well or even while we've been together. First win of the kids life as well. Daughter was asleep but my son was awake. I think he was watching Night at the Museum though lol.

It was a week of breaking painful sports streaks for me. Awesome to get an IU win, and I'm a Bengals fan, so my 8 year old son and I both witnessed our first Bengals playoff win

I know Isiah is an all-time great but was very young when he was at IU and I hated his Pistons teams, so never really was a big fan of his. However, I really appreciate how he has embraced IUBB recently. Maybe he did before and I didn't notice, but he seems all in now.

To add to that, putting out this add featuring IU almost as much as Purdue, perfectly illustrates the mindset of Purdue people.

No kidding. I don't live in Indiana anymore and can say with certainty that no one, absolutely NO ONE cares about Purdue outside of their Indiana fanbase. There are national programs, there are regional programs and there are invisible programs. Purdue is invisible. That is not snark or arrogance, just the way it is. IU has been the definition of mediocrity for 20+ yrs and Purdue has owned them for 5 yrs....and still nobody cares. Purdue trying so hard and the "IU sucks" schtick just makes it much worse.

Next is breaking the streak against Michigan. Archie never beat Purdue or Michigan. Woody can get it done in a week.

I believe 26 minutes for Rob is the most this season. If he starts the 2nd half does he have the energy to hit the last shot? Which was his only basket of the 2nd half.

I noticed they switched Ivey onto Rob, in the 2nd half, as soon as he checked in. I’m sure that had something to do with it.

I had heard that. We’re there any other teams Archie never beat in the big ten?

I think those were the only two. Last time we beat Michigan I believe was the 28-0 run at their house during Yogis senior season.

Same x2. Everywhere I’ve ever lived outside the state with the layperson I speak to, it’s: “oh you’re a Hoosier? Do you play basketball?” It’s the mascot, it’s the brand, it’s synonymous with IU. On the other hand, trying to explain Purdue to people is futile because they have no idea what their basketball team is. All they know is engineering and moon.
OR they say “like Perdue Pharma or chicken?”

Made a last minute trip to that game when offered a couple tickets. That was a waste of gas. It was 20-2 when I asked my wife if we should just get a head start back home.

He wasn't, but Vic was awesome against Trey Burke a few years before that. Cody averaged 20 and 10 in 2013 against them. Made McGary look like a loser.

I was living in Houston at the time and we had a pretty solid game watch group at a place called Luke’s Ice House.  Watching those Michigan games Vic’s last year was some of the most fun I’ve had watching IU sports.

Zeller carried us on his back that last game against UM.
