But he's still immensely better than Tuttle. Our coaches, any coaches knew that. There wasn't a time where we should have wanted Penix benched. Quote

Hilarious He sucked last season. But it’s now clear that it was because your guy Tom Allen utter failed to put anything resembling a P5 team around him. Quote

I don't think he had fully recovered yet. He tore his ACL the last weekend of November the previous season. I thought last year he looked slower and weaker than in 2020. There were a couple QB sneak attempts where he got pushed backward. It's not unusual for guys to look that way when they're less than a year removed from that injury. DChoosier 1 Quote

He was a shell of his former self. Good for him that he looks completely different (ie back to normal/healthy/not hesitant or anxious etc etc) this season. Quote
LamarCheeks Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 FYI, Mike and the Huskies are playing under the Friday Night Lights this evening. Kickoff vs. No. 23 Oregon State is at the bottom of the hour on ESPN2 (that's 10:30 p.m.). Quote
reconmkd Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 I am torn do I root for Penix or my alma mater? Quote
reconmkd Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Wow the RB Martinez for the Beavers is a freshman and a beast.6 carries for 74 yds with 4 mins left in the 1st quarter. Quote
RaceToTheTop Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Michael Penix would obviously helped this year. But with him we're still a horrible offense. Bad receivers, bad line, no running game doesn't change just because of a quarterback. I also have very little doubt that if Penix were still at IU that he'd be hurt. Glad he's found somewhere he is having tremendous success. Quote
LamarCheeks Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Is Penix on his way back to Indiana? This fellow has the Colts drafting him in the first round. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/2023-nfl-mock-draft-big-155034758.html Rico 1 Quote

I sure hope it happens for him though. Any spot on day 1 or day 2 for him would be excellent. go iu bb and J34 2 Quote

LamarCheeks Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 Penix just caught a throwback pass and went 30 yards untouched into the end zone. Oh, how I miss him and DeBoer. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
Hoosierfan2017 Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 Penix has 381 yards tonight. We didn’t throw for 381 yards over the last 3 games of the season :( ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 Washington wins 51-33. 484 yards passing for Penix. On the same day our starting QB gets injured in a noncontact injury, Penix finishes the regular season, playing in his 12th game. IU football IS cursed.
