pappy1865 Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 For those ripping on Rob, my 9-year-old daughter noticed he had his head up more than last year. He'll be fine. His defense was immediately felt when he stepped on the floor. thebigweave, DLG3, yogisballin and 4 others 7 Quote

DLG3 Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 Phinisee criticism on offense is fair, but still is really getting after it and had great plays on defense. I actually really like Woodson trying to let him play through it and gain confidence. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Whoozhers, thebigweave and HoosierHoopster 3 Quote
DChoosier Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 Hard to not be happy with up 12 but should be 18+. Effort is great. Bates will be a starter. Hope Kopp’s 3 gets him on track. I appreciate Rob but for some reason the basket is 4” in circumference for him and he dribbles without purpose way too much. Still plays good D. Did I mention the effort/intensity !! Quote
kreigh8 Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 What's with the lack of Stewart? Drills a 3 early and then sat for most of the first half. I'm assuming he's healthy, but is his conditioning where it needs to be? Quote
Stuhoo Posted November 18, 2021 Author Posted November 18, 2021 St John’s averaging 105 points per game against two cupcakes. Tonight? 27 at the half. hoosierdogg and Dave from Dayton 2 Quote

That’s a really healthy situation. I’d rather see literally any other guard on our team play. You can’t be playing a guard who’s that bad at offense for that many minutes. Dave from Dayton 1 Quote

RaceToTheTop Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 Re: Stewart's minutes that half. I think it mostly a Bates thing. They basically split 20 minutes and Bates was hot. We were +2 on Stewart's 10 minutes and +10 on Bates. kreigh8, thebigweave and str8baller 3 Quote

hoosierdogg Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 TJD and Race combined for 17 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 0 fouls. Get that every half from the two bigs, and Hoosiers will win a lot more than they lose. killerbeezer, FloridaHoosierGirl and thebigweave 3 Quote

Stromboli Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 Analysis! Bardo is a clown. Props to whoever made the “Illini math” comment. SCOOOOP!! Dude is the truth. Weird hybrid old school/NBA element to his game. Keep him out there. These guys are playing HARD. Harder than I’ve seen an IU team play in years. Usually when I watch any other ranked team play, I see the effort and speed and passing and think; dang, no way IU can beat a team like this. Finally, we are playing that way. Johnson earned some bench time with the fouls. We’ll look better with him back out there. Keep Trayce and Johnson and Race and Scoop playing angry and we’ll keep rolling. Everyone is feeding off this collective energy. Freaking loving this. Dave from Dayton, LIHoosier, pappy1865 and 1 other 4 Quote

I do and I like Phin's defense, but the other guys brought intensity as well. On offense Phin shot 0-3, missed a pair of free throws, and turned it over twice. That's literally 6 wasted possessions. His defense is great, but it's not six possessions a half great. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 This is a great game to see what kind of halftime coach Woody is. Always seemed Archies halftime adjustments were mediocre at best. Stuhoo and FloridaHoosierGirl 2 Quote
