Whatever happens, in recruiting with the way NIL and the transfer portal work, there are no longer 'needs' just 'wants'.

^^This is the winning post^^

Want Haralson at IU? Of course.

Need Haralson at IU? Nope.

Because it doesn’t matter who you miss on, it matters who you get.

In fairness, Monday was more of the “exception to the rule” than the norm, IMO. Not that it is as consequential anymore with the portal.

In recruiting, you always lose our on recruits more than you win.  If you don't, you aren't casting a wide enough net nor shooting high enough.

Yeah, don’t disagree with the caveat that prioritization matters. You should definitely be in contact with a good range of players in a given class, but elite programs (Kansas, Duke, UNC, and UConn recently) probably land their “top” targets more often than not. Everyone misses on a few each cycle though, and I’m not even positive Haralson was one of our “top” targets this cycle necessarily. The sky is not falling because of this, that’s for sure.

Could be worse, he coulda gone to Michigan St. He's harmless at ND, never to be seen or heard from again.

I’ll be interested to see if Haralson sticks, could see him having a change of heart if ND has a really bad year.
