Because he's already taken?  DeVries would only be announced before because he didn't make the tournament, not because Iowa got to pick first.  

No way they take Devries over the golden boy. That's beyond dumb.

And there is the risk.  I think a lot of people expect a Dusty May style turn around.  Dusty at least had D1 experience and a FF4 run.

That’s my thought too.  But on the flip side, if McCollums heart and dream job are Iowa and he feels like he could win there, would he prefer that job?    I could see it both ways.  
 

And I’m assuming Iowa nor Indiana fired their coaches without having some sort of preliminary conversations with these candidates (and others)

Iu we fired archie knowing we may end up getting Woodson we are even dumber than I thought. And I think we are pretty dumb.

Yeah, that'd be malpractice to not have an idea. You could be right, McCollum could have a dream of being a Hawkeye legend, but then again you'd think Btown boy Dusty May would have the same dream. 

I'm still 5% in the camp that Dusty is coming to IU at seasons end - because that's what I want to believe. I also believe that Brad Steven is IU's next head coach.

That’s why I think Dolson actually had Matta ready to go and QB overruled him.   
 

Anyway, sounds like QB is out of the picture on this one.
