Popular Post NCHoosier Posted March 13 Popular Post Posted March 13 Here is my take and I feel most of us would agree at this point. I’m still highly skeptical that we land Stevens… but I’d love to see him get the job, if for no other reason than to watch the media eat their words about everything they’ve said about the program. The vindication for Dolson and IUBB would be absolutely glorious. Chris007, 8bucks, Doctor Jones and 10 others 13

Had IU at 22-4 before he was fired. He's gone to the sweet 16 or farther in each of the last five tournaments. Since moving to the Big 12, he’s dominated, going 34-4 in conference. Hes an outstanding coach and I don’t think it’s a stretch at all to say he would’ve won a title here at some point if IU didn’t fire him. ... I figured he was taking the angle that Sampson broke the rule (once at OK, then here) but is lusted for here by many, but Wade is garbage for breaking the rules. Both broke rules which no longer matter. IMO, eliminating Wade for that transgression alone would be foolish. 8bucks 1

Once they got beyond preliminary stage, MT has asked for more info on status of process at each stage and SD has been transparent. Upstanding guy. I kind of assumed you might be getting things from a fringe connection that might have had a shred of truth even if unlikely scenarios. But, for a high profile hire like this the interviewing school is not going to give one the names of the other candidates. You would not allow one candidate the opportunity to leak info about another candidate interviewing for a job. That could blow things up for that candidate and they may have been the one you wanted. Now sure, leaks happen all the time but generally those are somewhat controlled by the candidates. No way any reputable AD is sharing the names of other candidates. MikeRoberts and thebigweave 2

But anyway he was asked to retire and we would pay his full buyout, He threw his temper tantrum, quit, then came back and we negotiated him writing his statement that he was walking away. Been lurking around since 2013, but haven't posted much. And my point would be that being asked to retire is being fired, which is why he's eligible for a buyout. I'm just laughing about the retirement talk. It's so funny, especially with him saying on national TV "maybe I'm going to soon" theriverpilot and thebigweave 2
