Iowa’s the place you go if you just want to coach basketball while having middling expectations without everything else that comes with being a coach at a major program. Fran has survived 15 years despite making the tournament only 7 times, winning 50.4% of is conference games, and never making it to the sweet 16. Sounds like McCollum just wants a job he can hide out and coach without being the center of attention. Nothing wrong with that, but this isn’t the job for him if that’s the case.

Did Tyler Durden tell you that?

Maybe this is all a smoke screen to hire Will Wade? SD goes after (or leaks) possible coaches that he knows are not interested - thoroughly going through the process - he knows Wade is still under a 'show cause' but has a great resume that he has to sell to the BOT/Donors - this way he can go in front of the board and say 'unfortunately this is the best we could get'....

Joking of course (unless it happens this way then I'm claiming it all along)...

I rather have Ben than the Clemson head coach, I'll say that.

I guess I would too but that isn't saying much. It means the search was bust imo if we got to this level.

I don't see Dolson hiring anyone who has an inch of bad publicity. (Beard, Wade)

How are they not similar? They both win at every stop they’ve ever been at, they both have complete confidence in themselves, they both have built programs up.

Cignetti had a lot of experience at the high major level as a player and coach before becoming a head coach. He was on the staff for Saban that landed the Hightower/Jones class, he was also QB coach for NC State and recruited Philip Rivers.

This is McCollum's only DI year ever.

Anyone know why Michael Lewis was that the game this past weekend?

His team is done playing and most likely there just for support. Some speculation was because he’s coached w/ BS before. Nothing concrete, sort of Cody Zeller esk with assumptions

If it gets to that level, we know where Indiana Basketball stands, a meh job with blue blood expectations.

Ok fair enough I guess I was just looking at it from a winning at every stop perspective
