When that fails due to Brad going to coach Wemby and Fox, see if Dusty is ready to come home. When Dusty is fired 4 years later, try Brad again. When he turns us down to become the commissioner, hire Schertz and hang 5 more banners. It’s a fool-proof plan guys. Get right or get left. Honestly we should hire Pitino and make the other potential HC candidates as assistants LOL

Stealing a sitting coach at a top 4 conference coach with his resume would be a steal. Not sure why he would want to slum it down to a middle of the pack B1G team that is in rebuild mode when he as things humming at the top half of the Big East with the same amount of fan support there then he would get here I would generally agree but I think this may be the right time for him to leave if there ever was. Kalkbrenner and ashworth are both graduating and we definitely do have more NIL compared to them so a rebuild here may be easier in his mind. Maybe he gets frustrated looking at St. John's being able to buy whatever player they want and wants the resources we can provide. But in all likelihood he'll get a nice raise from creighton and retire there. pumpfake and Uspshoosier 2

ziggyiu Posted March 5, 2025 Posted March 5, 2025 Everyone saying that Creighton is in the Big East now so things are harder. That's true. But it's not like Creighton internally is still operating like it's in the MVC. The university/program did things to help it be competitive at the next level. GM is a good coach, but it's not like he is doing more with a lot less compared to other Big East schools. str8baller 1

Not sure if this is true. I know St. John's is getting money pumped into their program. UCONN obviously and gtown has money to spend. I'd be suprised if Villanova isn't spending more than creighton. Didn't ryan nembhard leave a few years ago because of the NIL?

Arthur Schabinger is not walking through that door. Red McManus is not walking through that door. Tom Apke is not walking through that door. The sooner you realize that, the better this program -- and this board -- will be. The only thing that's gonna turn this around is being upbeat and positive. Wasn't being negative at all. I've never understood how posting factual stats is viewed as positive or negative. It's a true statement that there are similarities between Dayton and Creighton. Both have a long history of success and phenomenal fan support. Both have had numerous successful coaches there. Dayton is also a private Catholic school. They would actually fit in well in the Big East. It's also true that McDermott failed at ISU. Archie failed at IU. Anthony Grant failed at Alabama. Brian Gregory failed at GT and S FL. But Altman has been successtul at OR. IU Prof Posted March 5, 2025 Posted March 5, 2025 It's all a matter of perspective. Would I rather have Brad, Otz, Dusty, or Drew? Sure. But are we in a good position if McDermott or Cronin are the floor for this search? Absolutely. Either one would be the best coach at IU since Sampson. So yes, by all means take a swing at all the HR candidates. But if McDermott is willing to come, he's a really nice fallback option. Parakeet Jones, skhoosier2, TadQueasy and 2 others 5
