You going to use Jerry Palm as your bracketologist?   Purdue grad that finished 164 out of 179 bracketologist last year.  I would someone else if I was you

Point was it stupid to pick one data point to argue against Cronin or anyone. If Baylor continues to flame out the rest of the season, I would be no less excited to have him as IUs next HC.

And while I would have been excited if they had gotten Dusty May, I still would have been cautiously optimistic.

It does seem odd his buyout came down, if previous reports are true.

Yeah, it seems a little odd to me that he would all of the sudden sign a contract with a lower buyout clause almost two months after its effective date.

The contract does have a provision that he has to notify the university if he begins negotiations with another team.

Maybe he signed the contract and then said, “oh, by the way…”

I'm not terribly concerned about hiring the youngest coach (43 vs. 48 vs. 54). While it would be awesome to get a guy for the next 20-25 years, how often does that actually happen these days? Izzo, Painter, Self....

We need to get the best coach possible and can't afford to sacrifice for a guy a few years younger. Beggars can't be choosers, and we are some beggin' mofos

Honestly we haven't been good for 5 straight years since I have been alive. I will settle for that before we start thinking about 20.

Uh oh.  This news is going to need to be factored in.

(jk… mostly)

Dolson surely knows the boundaries those clowns need from this point forward and would hopefully nix their attempt to regain access. Admittedly I haven't seen the context to which this relationship applies, but I can't see Cronin being extremely close with either of these guys.

Shifting gears a bit, who do we think Brad keeps as holdovers from the current roster? I think an open invitation to return will be given to Malik, Mackenzie, and Bryson Tucker. Tougher conversations likely need to happen with Rice. No reason he can't grow into a great role player, but he's certainly not a starter and our primary point guard.

Newton, Cupps, K9 all gone.

Wait what

I may be mistaken, but didn't the staff think we would have another year of eligibility for Goode?

You got to think he would be welcomed.

The extension wasn’t signed in January, it was signed on Wednesday. Does anyone else think it is odd that a contract that began in January didn’t get signed until this week?

No, because UNC agreed to an extension with Davis in August and wasn't signed till December and wasn't even announced till last week.

Yes, Goode said he was going to challenge to get a medical redshirt year, since he missed a majority of his Sophomore year.

Extremely unlikely he'll be granted another year.
