Sorry to go back but I'll never forget the time my buddy texted me after church and said you will never guess what Crean did today. I said what? He said the whole time the preacher was doing the sermon that Crean stood up and walked in a big circle around everyone listening. Like his ADD or OCD was going and he had to stand up and move. Anyway Drew I'm sure is much different

Tom must have had a few too many Diet Cokes before service

in the realm of words where my thoughts take flight,

I find myself bound by a task of great might.

"Seven hundred pages!" my editor cries,

As I sit here in horror, wide-eyed in surprise.

With coffee as fuel and a laptop aglow,

I ponder the chapters that still need to flow.

My fingers feel heavy, my brain’s on retreat—

Yet here comes the humor, so let's take a seat!

Oh, seven hundred pages—a daunting demand!

Like climbing Everest with no help at hand.

Each word feels like boulders rolled down from the peak;

To write just one sentence takes me all week!

“Just write about dragons!” my friend shouts with glee,

But alas, I’m more lost than a cat in a tree.

And what if they’re purple? Or wear silly hats?

How do you get stories from whimsical cats?

I tried writing love scenes—oh what a blunder!

The characters swooned and then pulled me asunder.

They danced through the fields, but then tripped on their feet—

Now they’re tangled in weeds and can't find their way neat!

Then came an idea; “Let’s make it absurd!”

A tale of two penguins who fancied each word.

They waddled through libraries searching for rhymes—

But found only igloos and ice cream at times!

Each page I compose is like running a race;

A marathon scribble that quickens my pace.

I'm racing against time while avoiding despair—

“Seven hundred pages” can’t fit in thin air!

Opus approves of this message. This may contain: a cartoon penguin holding an ice cream cone

Were those alfords recruits?

I can’t believe I’ve been tricked into praising Alford. I need to go back to lurking, lol. But yeah if I remember right they were mostly Alford’s guys, though Cronin convinced them to stay. Juzang was a transfer—Cronin got him, but Juzang wanted to come home, too.

That final four team was super fun—gutty offense mixed with Cronin defense. But I’ve never seen him put together a team that was as well rounded as that one. I hoped he might keep it up at UCLA after the final four run but it seems like offensively he just is what he is.

Well, have any of you pissed next to Tom Crean at an IU Football game?

BECAUSE I HAVE! #BringBackCrean if Brad Stevens says no.

Funny story I did at Mitchell Elementary School during halftime of a game his son was playing in. We started talking, he found out I worked at IU and he asked if I wanted to ref some practices if they needed someone.

Ummm... this one. That's a very Crean loss last night by UCLA and Cronin.

Happens a lot in college basketball.  It’s what makes college basketball the greatest sport ever.   Minny beat Michigan earlier in the year in a crazy game.  Minny had no business beating them but they did anyway

I know you don’t like the Hysterics but the podcast they just did with him was really good

In a latrine, quite odd, where the air was less clear,

I stumbled on Tom Crean—oh, what luck to be near!

With a grin like the sun and a clipboard in hand,

He leaned on the stall door and made quite a stand.

“Hey there,” he said with that trademark charm,

“Care to ref some Hoosier practices? No cause for alarm!

We’ve got talent galore—like a circus of flair—

Just imagine the drama in this lavatorial lair!”

I chuckled at first; could he really be jesting?

Refereeing basketball? Oh boy, what a testing!

But Tom’s eyes were twinkling; his passion was clear,

How could I resist such an offer sincere?

So we strutted to court with our whistles in tow,

And soon found ourselves swept up in the flow.

The players were flying like birds on their wings,

While I dodged through the madness and called all my things.

RE: News Thread - We do but its buried about 5 pages deep on this board and hasn't even reached the 2nd page yet because there really is no credible news out there.

(just kidding for those who might actually go looking for this fictional thread)

You do have a point though. There is no news and likely won't be for weeks. That thread will get buried immediately, or just turn into another version of this one.

There is a wide range of candidates that are young, successful, have D1 experience, and are not at established P5 programs that would be very interested in becoming the head coach at IU.

Bright young minds can also have real D1, and even real P5 experience.

Yes,All I'm saying is if it comes down to McCollum or a guy like him I'm fine with it.

Not trying to argue Stu,but we have a very high opinion of our program and I'm not sure that translates on a national level.

Personally I hope it's May, Drew or even Cronin for that matter.Being an old man myself I don't want anyone in there mid sixties and I'm not sold on Stevens being realistic.

Peace?

He does win a bit more than our administration would like from the men’s basketball program, so I agree.

Ask @RoadToZion if they're a fan. Have you read why he enjoys Baylor? Basketball seems pretty secondary. Sure, there are religious coaches, but he seems to be taking it to the next level. Seems like a perfect fit for Baylor.

Was never at war!

We’re here to discuss, debate, and sometimes disagree

FWIW, I hope it’s May, Stevens, Cronin, McCasland, Buzz, Gates, Byington, Pitino jr., Schertz, or Calhoun.

The others are either too old, not established enough, or not a personality that I think will work for my taste.
