Regardless of stevens I'm just glad it seems we have tons on money to offer somebody good. And im not on board of going the cig route. Football was in the gutter so if they struck out no big deal nobody would care. Dolson cannot strikeout on this one period. We simply can't keep getting this wrong anymore. And really with the nil and money we have if he makes a crap hire he should be fired

You clearly don’t pay attention. I’ve said it was Dusty from jump. Never bought into the Stevens madness. And it’ll be Dusty and he’ll coach circles around your precious Woodson.

This is true. He has been all Dusty from the start

I still have a hard time with Cronin.  I had May and Stevens tied and would be thrilled with either.

I get it. He's a little odd. He isn't perfect and not my top choice. I just want to win. I'm tired of watching god awful basketball. If he's the "backup" I'm fine with that instead of an Archie Miller or Mike Woodson like hire.

Can confirm WFH has been standing firm on this, just usually gets lost in the mist of all the other conversations.

Dusty will deliver Crean results (maybe) and this fan base will run him off.

Stevens texted Goodman what to say. That’s how this works.

I actually 100% agree with this.  Stevens or a rep told Goodman what to print, which was deliberately concise.  I don’t think we land Stevens, but him making sure Goodman use this language is interesting.

It’s either a legit rejection of the Indiana coaching position, letting us down easy this time. (certainly most likely)

Or it’s a soft denial, where the quote never mentions Indiana, and the “not a candidate” language is not directly attributed to Stevens.  This would be a simple deflection, that gets journalists off his scent, and would be easy to explain away later.

Again I don’t think he’s going to be our coach, but it’s certainly not a masshole press conference level denial.

Because he’s not having press conferences. He’s not coaching this time around. That’s why the Goodman report is significant. Brad put out a statement to say no thanks. It can’t get more clean than that

Stop it.

Brad Stevens is not coaching IU

They said those things in pressers with their back against the wall and no choice but to lie or they were sunk. Stevens texted Goodman when he didn’t have to say anything. Massive difference.

I don’t understand why it’s hard to believe he’s not interested. He is effectively the chief executive at the best basketball club in the world, both right now and in history
It’s so very clearly not happening. Can we please move on to discussing realistic options.

So you 100% know and can prove that Brad texted that to Goodman and he had to respond.

Not saying it didn’t happen, because I don’t know anything, just wondering if that is 109% fact now ot all went down.

And yet again, I will say I don’t believe Brad is coming. I’m just not going to **** on another person if they want to continue their pain in believing it.

I agree here. So how do we know which it is? We watch and see what happens. If we start to hear about our interest in college coaches it will suggest we are moving on. Trilly had said there did not seem to be much activity on the college side but maybe that changes.

People expect the GM of the Celtics to call a formal press conference during his down week to more forcefully say he’s not taking some college job the message board crew is convinced about, because texting a reporter isn’t good enough.
