TTT Posted February 6, 2024 Posted February 6, 2024 Done with Woodson. Unqualified. Had his chance, along with staff. Downward projection. None of them don’t know what they are doing nor care that much. No enthusiasm, lazy and a gig for as long as it lasts They need to be gone. Don’t want no big name anything. Rather, want someone who is yet to have big time success to enjoy their ride to the top. 1. Dusty May Others to consider Schertz…I think May and Schertz play the same type of game. And Alford.

I think it's a huge mistake if we put a lot of faith in Jakai being a major contributor next season. Kid hasn't played competitive ball in 2 years. Would dearly love to have him prove me wrong but if the staff puts that kind faith in his return, then that's one less upgrade we'll be looking for in the portal. I can't even imagine the reaction from the mob if we replaced Woody with Schrewsberry. I'm not advocating for Shrewsberry, but atleast he'd be an active HC when hired. Yes, IU set the bar that low when hiring Woodson; let's not underestimate how stupid that move was.

In that case, who is hiring the staff replacements? Who has Woodson ever evaluated at this level? Every hire has been forced, retained from previous staff, or a recommendation hire (Yasir). Does Woodson even listen to the new staff? As scary as trying to replace multiple holes in the roster next year may be, who is going to coach them up? Who is going to develop and maximize their talent?

Agree completely, and that’s coming from the biggest Newton fan whose last name isn’t Newton. But I will say this: before that kid got hurt he was every bit the player that Stephon Castle was and Castle is now a 1 and done lottery pick. Not saying Newton is that. Just saying he’s 1 hell of a lottery ticket and I really hope he stays. IUc2016 and Soulsnipes 2

HinnyHoosier Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 I don't know much about the guy but his overall record and the direction in which he's taken each program he's coached (except Iowa State) speaks for itself, most notably in his current gig. Greg McDermott. I don't know, maybe that's a dumb idea and/or recency bias (yes while I'm watching Creighton lol). He's probably locked in there. But you can't deny he improves every program he's touched.
