Also, I doubt the noncompete has college programs in it and if it did, that would be easy to get thrown out in court I would think. Oh certainly there is non-compete which wouldn't mean much in this instance like you said. But either way, he could walk away from his job. lillurk 1

Beilein is ancient and would have major trouble recruiting imo. From reading the posts on this site, Rivals, and Peegs he seems to be the one guy of the realistic hires that a lot of people would be irate over. My only worry with Beilein is that with his age, he might be calling it quits around the same time as some other guys in his age range. And if he does, that could put us in competition with Duke and North Carolina for coaches. Then again, if Stevens says no this time, it gives us another potential shot at him in a few years (although this kind of feels like a no or never type thing with him.) Capt. Yeah, at the same time K retires from Duke, and probably some other big name coach, and then IU is the ugly girl looking for a date. akumanina 1

dwtaylor1055 Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Beilein gets us back to winning right away and when the time comes for him to step down for retirement we'll be back to consistent NCAA tourney appearances, competitive nightly in conference play and no more 1st rd exits in the Big Ten tourney. At this point you'll have a lot more coaches wanting to take over as the dirty work has been done behind the scenes to get us back towards the glory days. Kentuckysucks 1

How many guys parlay a hot streak into a big promotion and contract somewhere and then flounder? I want consistency. Mich St & Wisconsin have been solid for 20 yrs.....THAT is what IU needs again. Be good every year then you have a chance to be great sometimes. Good thing he made a NC run in 2 consecutive seasons then :) Evariste Galois and Capt. Crimson 2

Maybe I'll eventually learn to spell his name then. it's supposed to be: i before e except after C! not B and L! On the bright side, he also has been to 2 championship games and his teams are fundamentally sound: low turn overs, crisp passes, good screens, etc. My bigger concern with B-line, is that his successful teams do not resemble our current roster at all. My question is how quickly can he turn this around? Edited March 17, 2021 by tdhoosier

Bennett, which I think is a lower chance then almost anyone else on our list at the moment. That guy turned down a raise so more money could be put into building the program. That to me says he is committed where he is at. pumpfake, Evariste Galois, dwtaylor1055 and 6 others 9
